Yay fofor picking an island.... My boss is there in her honeymoon right now.... I know she talked abou maybe going to a Couples resort... I'm just not sure if that was the one in Jamaica she mentioned.... Sorry I'm not much help I guess hahaha Do you have a date picked?

We actually made a decision last night! haha We decided on JAMAICA!!! We were between Jamaica, Aruba and Turks and Caicos but he preferred an AI just to keep it easier for people (most of his friends and family have not done a lot of traveling) so that pretty much ruled out T&C (we didn't want Beaches) And we weren't crazy about Aruba's law about legal marriages being in their Town Hall bc we want the legal ceremony on the beach. Phew!! Now, our next step is to research/contact/compare resorts - we're looking at Secrets, Jewel, Iberostar and maybe another one or two. I noticed there hasn't been a lot of info on Jewel but I stayed at Jewel Runaway Bay in May when my cousin got married at FDR. FDR is a basic AI with a very family-oriented atmosphere (their suites comes with nannies!!) so my sisters and I wanted a regular AI and Jewel was next door and it was great! Not as big as RIU but really nice and we had a great time there. Does anyone know of other AI in Negril besides RIU and Sandals?

Hi I've posted a few times but have mainly been lurking. Lol. Trying to become more " active" . I got engaged last month in Paris. ( on the love lock bridge) awwww. Lololol! Everyone's been doing that so I had to. It was a total surprise. Wasn't expecting it for another few months or a yr. but here I am, planning a function I've really never given much thought to. I did always know I'd want a DW. If I could find someone who'd want to marry me. Lol. I used to be in event planning, mainly wedding years ago before I became a flight attendant . I've always disliked the idea of 400 ppl coming to eat and drink on my tab. Lol. Especially since I'd see a lot more ppl show up to receptions than to the actual ceremony. So DW it is!!! I wish we could keep it small but it looks like small is inviting 100 of our closest family and friends. We have a huge family and inner circle. We have decided to do it @ the jellyfish restaurant in Punta Cana , not sure of the resort yet but leaning towards Dreams palm beach. Going scouting in September . So my wedding date is... Ready? October 31, 2014 ... Yes Halloween! We initially wanted Nov 1 but it was booked so I thought. Why not? It might be fun, we can make it a masquerade . Lol. Plus there will always be a party going on for our anniversary and he can't forgot it! Lol I'm getting a bit of negative comments and flack because its Halloween and because its a Friday. What do y'all thi,. I'm very much the screwem all type of gal.lol

Lol. Thanks! And yes! Paris is awesome . What's everyone doing about kids? The jellyfish only holds 120 ppl. I don't mind if people bring kids to the resort, but is it horrible that they make sitting arrangements to come to our reception off property? I don't want to use up our numbers on kiddies. :0(

I wanna wear my dress again too! And my dad is still deadset against the DW anothet reason I wanted to do a symbolic ceremony so he can "give me away" he says im being selfish taking it away from him. Hopefully he comes but if not I've accepted it. Gonna enjoy our wedding. .

I do want a cake because the choices at my resort aren't really what I want. Love passed hor dourves(sp) and carving stations. FI loves candy wanted to try to find all our childhood candy.

I also wss thinking beachy theme to keep things going. Love peacock theme colors are beautiful.

Hoping video comes out great so can be played at AHR. Ofcourse dancing and how can I forget.. OPEN BAR A MUST! !!!! Hahaha

Love grooms cake idea if we were having at home wedding was gonna do a 49rs cake for him. Also want to get garter made on etsy after 49rs.

Aww - I hope you Dad comes around and walks you down the aisle at your DW!

That is a cute idea of doing all your childhood candy favs!

The beachy theme is cute - it is a nice way to make everyone feel like they are a part of the whole wedding.

Open bar is goood!  I have mixed feelings about hard alcohle at functions like this.. I feel like beer and wine are safer ... people get crazy(ier) with hard stuff.  I might do a signature drink then just beer and wine... I will do kegs - way cheaper then cans/bottles and if you have it behind a bar/table with a bartender and a nice tap it doesn't look like a frat party : )

grooms cakes are cute : )

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
