We are looking at getting married in May/June 2014, in Jamaica!!

I love Jamaica! We actually had a big wedding planned for home, but when we were in Jamaica this past winter I fell in love with it and was envious of all the brides I saw getting married on the beautiful beaches!

So, why be envious when its not too late to change plans! So we cancelled our home wedding, and now we are super looking forward to getting married on a beach with just close friends and family!

We havent decided on resort yet because flight schedules are only released about 12-14 months in advance so I have to hang on until this Winter to book, but I am getting started already!

We have our colours, so we are started on all the little things!

Super excited to have discovered this forum and to be able to share my excitement with my fellow DW brides! :-)

I'm in the exact same boat....Looking to get married in April 2014 in Jamaica. Have to wait for flights/prices to choose a resort...and I am from St. John's as well! Look forward to choosing a resort so that the planning can really begin. Happy to have a fellow NL bride in a similar situation :)

Definately not pacing myself. I slowly get things done as I go.

I have a wedding dress picked out (not ordering it yet as Im not sure about my sizing being over a year from the date), My invitations picked out, our wedding songs, the resort, the date, the bridesmaids attire and our wedding website done. Im just thankful that Im not in a rush to get anything done so I can do a little here and a little there when I have time.

The hardest thing I find is that I pick something and then change my mind later... but again with so much time, its not a big deal!

HI!! I got engaged on Labor Day weekend this year and we are getting married in April 2014 in Riviera Maya. I am pretty sure we are choosing the NOW Sapphire Resort, but I am having trouble getting anyone to respond to my wedding request form. I've sent it several times already with no response... I guess I am a little over-eager.  I have already put a deposit on my dress and should have the bridesmaids dresses picked out in the next few weeks.  Super excited and can't wait for 2014 to get here!!

I'm a newbie here, so excited to get my planning started. We have our hearts set on late May 2014. We're from England but would really love to get married in Mexico, ideally the Beach Palace. Any tips and pointers welcome

Congratulations to you all

Hi Yossi!

Congratulations! I also just recently got engaged and have been to Sun Palace for vacation previously. We just decided this weekend that we want to get married at Playacar Palace in the Spring of 2014, now we just have to sign the paperwork. Although I haven't been to beach palace, we really enjoyed our stay at sun and i can't imagine any of the other resorts will be less then spectacular. The food, staff and overall resort feel were outstanding and knowing the high standards they have, if you go with Beach Palace, I truly feel you will have an amazing time & wedding! Our previous experience made our decision that much easier, so hopefully this helps a little bit.

Good luck & happy planning :)

Hey guys!

I'm a Canadian Bride- got engaged last May. My fiance and I decided on a  DW in Punta Cana, DR (although we also liked the pricing of Mexico too, but decided against it in the end). I have pretty much narrowed it down to Majestic Elegance/ Colonial or the Blue Ocean & Sands by H10 for the Resort- gonna talk to the TA and go with whatevers cheaper. But my fiance imagines our ceremony barefoot in the sand and I was worried about the other tourists in the speedos n such- want something quieter and more private/ special (I hear Majestic does like 5 weddings a day). So I've decided to have the ceremony at the Jellyfish Restaurant and the Reception on La Barcaza. I just started contacting people to get something in stone but not planning on getting married until March-April or May 2014- LOL early start I guess?

Congrats to Everyone and Happy Planning!

Kristen.

I am soooooooo happy to have found this thread!  I have found several other threads, but they were from previous years.  I would love the opportunity to venture on this planning journey with many of you.  I have decided to have a destination wedding in Punta Cana.  I am having a difficult time determining a resort.  My first choice was and still is Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.  There are so many other beautiful resorts with great wedding packages.  How do you choose?  I plan on doing a site visit before May 2013.  This way I can see first hand the resorts.  My plan is to finalize the resort, and send out my boarding pass STD's, when I return form the trip.  I am very excited to finally plan "MY" wedding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
