Hey Kassi -

 

I just kicked off my wedding planning for February 2014. As with many people on this site, I've had trouble getting in touch with the resort. This is fine for now, but I'm concerned that I may not be interpreting the package prices right. Did the resort ever send you a detailed cost statement before your wedding that let you know what the bottom cost of each event? How soon in advance did you receive that? I'm planning a wedding for 75 people so I'm concerned about what's included, what's not, etc. I don't want to be surprised too late in the process.

Hello all

 

I just wanted to stop by and say hi.

We have finally decided on the venue (RHS) and will be booking the date (7/15/2014) shortly. It's a weekday so hopefully it will be open....

I have got so much helpful information on BDW already that I'm excited to be a regular now that we know where we will hold the special event!

We just sent in the Wedding Request Form today and waiting to hear back from IRHS with the info on making deposits and what-not.

So excited!

I went and did my very first bridal shop visit....and got some ideas.

My DF and I originally were planning on waiting to do STD until October but we think we will send it out in July so that people have more time to start saving/reserving/start paying and so on.

Did you hear back from IRHS? How is the planning and communication going? They are one of the resorts I am considering for next year.

We are booked for July 15, 2014.

We actually went couple weeks ago to visit the site, met with WC and manager. It was awesome. BEAUTIFUL too!

Their communication isn't stellar but I know they are super busy and usually don't start getting really active with you until about a month or couple wks before the wedding.

So far... I have booked

YES. I want to get an early start also. If I can give my guest more than 12 months to plan that would be AWESOME!!!!

How did you pay for your deposit? How long did it take for a confirmaiton on your date? What's the next step?? I know you are excited!!!!

If I could go back to the beginning of the planning one thing I would recommend would be to shop around with the different travel agents and travel companies about the perks they offer.  The perks vary drastically.  For example, some brides on here have posted that they are getting a free trip for every 8-10 people that book and our perk was a free trip for every 26th person that books.  That's a big difference.  I went with Flight Centre out of Mississauga and have been happy with them so far (minus the perk thing!) :)

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
