Grand Sunset Princess Weddings for 2013

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

My name is Ashley and i am currently in the beginning stage of planning my wedding for next March 15th at the Grand Sunset Princess Resort and Spa. My fiancee and I have fallen in love with the resort from our research and are excited to get this thing planned! :) I do have a few questions though for anyone who is planning a wedding there, has had a wedding there or who has just been there.

I am trying to decide on my set menu for the dinner reception with the Royalty package but am a little confused. I received an email from the Wedding Sales and Coordinator manager instructing me to select a set menu with 1 appetizer, 1 soup, 2 main courses and a dessert or wedding cake. However the set menus for each restaurant only have 1 main course for each. Does anyone know how this works?

Also I selected to have the wedding at the Riviera Gazebo because I have heard good things about that location. If anyone has pictures or knows where I can find pictures.

We are having a small group for the trip, only about 15, so the wedding will be small. We were wondering about hanging out by the beach after dinner with some music of our own. I know they have the beach party but obviously we do not qualify for that :(. Does anyone know anything about hanging out of on the beach?

Thanks guys! I know it's a lot sorry :)

Hello Brides!

I just signed up to this website and have read many great reviews for our venue. We have chosen to get married at the Grand Sunset Princess on June 7, 2013. We are just getting things together and have over 50 plus people so far. We are very excited to hear how other married couples and soon to be married couple are doing with this location and the planning. I am interested about your opinions and pictures. I also wanted to know if anyone has had any information on the DJ at this location? Previous reviews were not great so I just wanted to know how your experience has been lately (the reviews were from last year).

I am getting excited it is only 6 months to the big day!

Hi all, I am also planning a wedding at the Grand Sunset Resort for February 2013.  Has anyone else had trouble with response time from the wedding coordinators.  I'm finding it takes days for them to respond.  Also, is anyone having trouble with price increases/changes or attempted add ons?

Hi genise82, I just started working with Emma my wedding coordinator and so far she has not delayed on answering my emails. She takes about a day to respond. And I have not expetience any price increases since I haven't really gotten that far into the planning. I know they gave me a price and I have not gotten any increase for the beach reception. Since your wedding is so close ... Did you pick the DJ of the hotel? What about the photographer? I hope everything else goes well with your plans! :) Carla(Starbride)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
