I am a little frustrated and don't know what to do! I have booked with Playa Del Carmen LA Perla but now I don't know where the BEST place is to have the ceremony and the reception! This is very difficult because I have never been! I like the pictures people have put up.  I wanted the ceremony on the beach but now the lady has said the gazebo is better? Any suggestions? Thank you so much!!!!!!

Hi there! I'm getting married at Paradisus La Perla in May 2013. Nice to see someone else getting hitched there...as of right now, I am set up to for the ceremony on the beach and the reception poolside. I still am thinking about the gazebo (she said I could switch later b/c no one else is booked on my day), but Im kinda like what's the purpose of getting married in Mexico if not on the beach...LOL. Who's your wedding coordinator. I'm dealing with Jessica and she's been an absolute pleasure! I've pictures from about 5 weddings there, and I'm confused too! What date/time did you guys choose?

Hi Jessica! I'm booked/getting married at Paradisus La Perla too. As of right now, I have the beach location booked for 4:30pm, I figured since we're doing a destination wedding I might as well get married on the beachrolleyes.gif. But, I have seen some of the beautiful pics from the gazebo weddings. My wedding coordinator (Jessica) said that I could change my location/time once I get to the hotel or once time gets closer to the wedding (since no one else is booked on my day). What date/time are you having your wedding? Which package did you choose? If you'd like to talk 'offline' shoot me an email. Look forward to getting to know ya!

Hi ladies!

I'm just about to send over my paperwork to book at La Perla as well for Feb 22nd.  I was always dead set on having the ceremony on the beach, but now I'm leaning toward the bridge, since there is still a view of the beach and we can always go take pics on the beach afterwards.  Have either of you gone for a site visit?  I don't think we are going to be able to, but I really want to.  I'm still in the very early stages of planning, even though it's not too far away woot.gif but am trying to lock down all my details in the next several weeks.  We're going to have a very small wedding so I'm thinking the whole process will be pretty simple.

Congrats to you both, and let me know how it's going!

  • 1 month later...

are any Paradisus brides getting an outside photog?  beware there's a 1000 USD (not pesos) vendor fee or a 3 night stay which is about the same if not more than the 1000 usd.  you're bullied into using their on site photog.

I wish I could get married at Paradisus and allowed to have choices. Most hotels charge 350-500.

I looked up the definition of Extortion, this is pretty close to extortion

I could use 1000 USD towards upgrading my package, or getting rooms for relatives for 3 nights.

ex·tor·tion

  â€‚[ik-stawr-shuhn]  Show IPA
noun
1.
an act or instance of extorting.
2.
Law the crime of obtaining money or some other thing ofvalue by the abuse of one's office or authority.
3.
oppressive or illegal exaction, as of excessive price or interest: the extortions of usurers.

just don't book an outside photog if you do it's a 3 night stay or 1000 US dollars.  *sigh* I don't know what to do but to give in probably.

i've never heard of this kind of extortion. most resorts ask for a 1 to 2 night stay.

I might as well as my fiance's dad to film us or my cousins they have fancy cameras. :(

Hi, I am getting married at La Perla on May 17th, 2013 but haven't even gotten a list of reception venues, do any of you girles have any suggestions? Thank you bunches!
Hi tashaw! I'm getting married at the Paradisus La perla on May 25th! For reception venues I have heard about the gazebo and it holds 50 comfortably. It's really beautiful and a nice private area. I'm not sure if we are going to do a private dinner reception, we will have an hour long cocktail reception and then maybe a dinner reservation at one of the resturants......still up in the air mainly because of the small number of people we are expecting (20-30). We wont know for the next few months. I'm pretty sure they do receptions at the Gabi bar so you might want to inquire about that, looks really beautiful there too! I haven't received or asked for specific reception locations from the WC yet so all of this info is from other BDW brides that have done site visits or gotten further into planning. My plan is to get further into details with the resort when it gets closer and I have a more definite head count! Hope this helps! Happy planning! So excited for all of us getting married at this beautiful place! Can't wait to talk more planning with you ladies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
