Dreams Los Cabos Wedding 7/13/13

Recommended Posts

Hi All!!

I've got to say that after reading everyone's reviews, it comes as a comfort to know that there are so many people with great suggestions to ease the stress of planning a wedding; especially a destination wedding. I am getting married next July, 7/13/13 at Dreams and wanted your advice on a few things...

TA - After speaking with a few different TA's, I'm leaning towards Vacations for Less. I'm currently speaking with Teresa and was interested to know if anyone else has worked with her and if so, how was your experience? Pricing?

Photograghy - I booked the ultimate package with Dreams ($3,000) and I know it includes some photos but I was thinking of expanding on the package and using the photographer at the resort; Adventure Photos. Thoughts?

DJ - DJ Ricardo. I've only seen great reviews about him on BDW and he writes back to all of my e-mails promptly and his pricing is reasonable.

Any other suggestions/ideas are more than welcome!! I'm at the early stages here but want to get a big start now that I have some time.

Congratulations on your engagement and booking your wedding! I am also getting married at Dreams September 22, 2012! Thought I would share my feedback to your questions.

Travel Agent: We are using Teresa with Vacations for Less and she is just fabulous! Quick to respond, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Plus your guests can just email her to book their trip. Very convenient! Her pricing has matched, if not beat, most websites such as Expedia, Orbitz, etc. She can get great rates at Dreams and other hotels. She can book flights for you and guests, but the airline doesn't really give her a discounted rate. We kept an eye on airfare and booked when there was a sale. Highly recommend using Teresa.

Photography: We have the Dreams of Love package which does include the Adventure Photographer. I chose to use their services at the Rehearsal Dinner and I am in the process of hiring Daniel Jireh as our photographer. We decided to place emphasis on our photographer within our wedding budget. He has a great portfolio, quick to respond, and reasonably priced packages that do include videography.

DJ: We have booked DJ Ricardo as well. He has been wonderful to work with and super flexible. All his reviews are perfect and he seems like the best option for Cabo.

Flowers: Your wedding package does come with flowers, which youâ€ll most likely use Emporio Arte Floral. You can email them directly to receive pricing and floral ideas. Just check in with Magda to be sure.

Hair & Make up: Your package does include yours, but if youâ€re looking for someone for your bridesmaids or the moms, I am booking with Neysa Berman with Salon Blanc. She has great reviews, cheaper than other artists, and her work is amazing.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. Wish you the best in planning!

Wow!!! We are getting married at Dreams one week apart from each other! :) My wedding date is 7/27/13. Isn't it all so exciting!?

I am still in the early planning stages but I can tell you that Teresa with Vacations for Less has been very helpful and really gave me peace of mind about booking room and flights.

I am really debating between a DJ and renting Dreams' sound system since my wedding will be on the smaller side. I am just concerned about who will operate the sound system and when. I am going to contact DJ Ricardo to be on the safe side.

I've been in contact with Lola from Florenta Flower Design and she is really helpful and sweet. I figure I need a few more flowers than what is included in our wedding package (The Love Package). Lola will give you a "credit" towards the flowers that are already included in the wedding package to equal what DREAMS would charge you for the flowers.

Hmmmm... what else??? There are so many details involved.

Photographer! I am still shopping around. My fiance really wants someone who can provide a photo booth.

I've been in contact with Rev. Artega too. He was referred by Yessica (wedding coordinator at DREAMS) and he is great to work with.

Keep in touch! I think we can really help each other out with our weddings being so close in time.

Hi Ladies,

Can anyone tell me about the Oceana Pool Terrace or the Cascada Pool Terrace.  I'm having a hard time deciding between the two and the two locations look so similar in the pictures. Which one is more private?  Does anyone have any pictures they can share??  I just secured June 14th, 2014 for my wedding date! woo hoo!!

Congrats to all the brides-to-be! ;)

Congratulations on securing your wedding date!!

Here is a photo tour of Dreams Los Cabos that I put together.  I think it'll help you out: http://faberphotography.com/dreams-los-cabos-wedding-photo-tour/

The Oceana Terrace is by the quiet pool, but it is directly overlooked by a large amount of hotel rooms (a picture in the photo tour is from our hotel room looking down at the terrace).

The Cascade Pool Terrace is really beautiful, and because it's at the lower level of the poo, it seems more private even though it's actually in the center of the resort.

So one can be viewed by a lot of guests in their rooms, one people can walk past more easily... horse a piece.  Just choose whichever one you think is perfect for your wedding.

Here is the full wedding that I photographed with the Oceana Terrace: http://faberphotography.com/weddings/victoria-alastair-dreams-los-cabos-gazebo-wedding/2011

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
