Bad Dreams? Anxiety Symptoms?

Recommended Posts

I haven't seen a forum on here on this topic, so here goes.  I recently have started to have bad dreams, almost every night.  They're not nightmares, but they're always recurring themes:  it's the day of the wedding, and NOTHING is done.  No decorations have been set out, my dress isn't right, there's no hairstylist or makeup person, the bridesmaids aren't dressed or their dresses don't match, and everything has to be thrown together minutes before the wedding and it all looks like crap.  I NEVER would've guessed that I'd be having bad dreams about this, I mean..I have it my ish together!  Pretty much everything is planned out and at this point all I have left to do is print my programs, menu cards & table #s, buy OOT bag items, and wedding party gifts.  The other thing I've been getting alot are major symptoms of anxiety:  lack of sleep  - only 3 to 4 hrs a night (and when i do sleep, the bad dreams happen) stomach pains, shortness of breath, heavy weight on my chest, sweaty palms, the works.  The stomach pains won't even let me eat...which can kinda be a good thing to drop these last 10 lbs, lol.  But seriously..this is getting crazy.  I'm seriously considering going to my doctor and having her write me a prescription for xanax or something.

If I try to talk to my FI about some of the things I'm stressed about that I think are causing me anxiety, he doesn't want to talk about it and says he's stressed too and we end up fighting.  I do have a MOH, but she's got her hands tied with a 2 yr old and a newborn, and she lives 1 1/2 away from me.  My other bridesmaids are his sisters which I don't feel comfortable in confiding in, and 1 more girlfriend and I don't want to always call her with the same whiny complaints!  My mom is no help at all - she's never planned a wedding, and I don't feel very comfortable asking his mom for advice or help either.  So basically, I've planned this all single-handedly.  I really can't wait for this wedding to be over : (    Anyone else feeling this way?

I recently had my first nightmare about the wedding too, my dress didnt fit, we didnt have the things that were needed for the ceremony and everything was a disaster. I think from talking, breathing and living wedding planning, the stresses that we have come out in our active minds at night. Everything will be fine and remember it was just a dream.

Omg I've had the exact same dreams! I've had 2 of them, I just chaulk it up to feeling like things aren't ready and time is running out. Sounds like you just need to try and focus on something else, the wedding might be taking over since you're doing it on your own. Why not try getting your mind off it somehow. I managed to by focusing on learning a low fat cooking/ eating plan. It required a lot of thought and prepwork which helps me think of other things. Good luck! For a non-prescription sleep aid try valeruim, you can take 3 before bed and it will help you sleep. I wish I had some better advice!

I've dreamed everything from a "Hangover" style fiasco to everyone getting food poisoning & not showing up! I don't pay much attention to it, just laugh. I've had 2 kids and I had nightmares about everything to do with parenting/children at that time too. Some of them are really funny :)

I go through phases of bad dreams. They get really bad right before a pivotal wedding related decision. They used to be my sign that we had to get decide already. I learned over time that yoga really helps them go away. I never did yoga before and tried it for the first time about a month ago. The dreams stopped instantaneously for me. My subconscious just needed to relax I guess.

I am so happy to be through with the wedding and back from our honeymoon, but I am still having bad dreams. Now they are wedding flashback dreams. They started when we got back from our honeymoon and it's been a different dream each night this week. Anyone else experience this? The stress is all over now. I just want these dreams to stop.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
