He was the minister that officiated our ceremony. We had absolutely no problems with him.

The one thing that did bother me was that he never responded to my e-mails. I had to copy my wedding planner to the e-mail to make sure he got them. They both explained to me that he just didn't like e-mails.... but you guys said that he's responsive to your e-mails....huh.gif

Karla, when I talked with him via phone he told me that he doesn't do email. He doesn't know how or something like that. Some other wedding planning company checks his emails for him and relays the info. I called him again and spoke with him and he did have our date confirmed stillhuh.gif Who knows! Did you like him?

He told me the same thing and gave me a local San Diego phone number to call to reach him.

Oh gotcha... sorry girls, I assumed e-mail for some reason.

We barely had any interaction with him. We did not hire him to show up at the rehearsal. So when I walked up to him and Tim at the wedding, it was the first time I saw him. He was very professional, showed up in a full suit, etc... He was very nice and we talked to him a bit after the wedding was over. I really have no complaints... I feel bad for Danielle, I really hope that was an unfortunate isolated incident.

I'm glad to know that your experience was very good. I also hope that what happened with Danielle was an isolated incident. When I talked to him this thought never crossed my mind....he always seems so on top of his game.

Thanks for the input!!

Is there any way that you girls who hired him can mention Danielle's incident to him? Like maybe say in a nice way "While I have heard great feedback with regards to your work I also have some concerns. There is a girl who had an unfortunate experience with you. I'm sure that was an isolated incident but I would like your reassurance that it won't happen again. And if for some reason you are sick do you have backup to fill your place?" I would ask or else it would drive me crazy from now until the day of my wedding wondering if he is going to show.

Danielle it really is terrible that he stood you up like that. I'm glad everything worked out for you wedding anyway, even if it was a huge inconvenience. Luckily the happiness of your wedding day couldn't be ruined by his rudeness and irresponsibility. Hey Danielle you should post pics of your wedding. We love seeing pics!

Hey girls,

It never crossed my mind to book a minister, but I just talked to my coordinator and she said the entire thing would be done in Spanish and then she would translate in english. I dont know how I feel about that since neither me or my FI have any hispanic heritage at all and have never even been to Mexico.

We are having a legal ceremony, so we actually want to get married down there. I was sort of happy about the cost of the marriage and all the paper work being included (besides the $150 blood work fee). Can anyone give me some feedback on why they are booking a minister?

And is booking a minister expenisve?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
