Anyway, I was thinking the same thing about timimg/scheduling a rehersal in regard to your wedding (but I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to do a rehersal or not). If I do, I'll schedule my rehersal for earlier in the afternoon or after your wedding, so that we don't have to worry about him having to time the traffic lights, etc. to be on time for your wedding (hee hee).

What time is your ceremony scheduled for?
Ya but he knows all the traffic lights! lol! right now we are planning around 6:30 or 7. I haven't decided yet! What time are you having yours?

We were originally scheduled at 6, but then switched it to 6:30 Rev. Parsons said that it is dark by 8. I don't want it to be blistering hot for everyone and figured the ceremony would end around 7 (only 30 mins), so we'll have about an hour of light for pictures.

Let's both keep praying for temps a little lower than the June average for our wedding weekend!

I know hopefully it won't be to hot! I think 6:30 is a great time! I think that is what I'm going to do as well! When do you plan on getting down to Cabo?

We have a timeshare at the resort where we are getting married, so we'll be checking in on Monday, June 18th. I'm glad about that because I know I'm going to have a lot to do down there before the wedding. We're doing our welcome reception on Thursday night (we're getting a master suite, 1 bedroom suite with ocean view and kitchen and doing a drop in reception with appetizers and cocktails for our guests -- all in an effort to save a little $$). :) You're lucky that Dreams is an AI.

  • 2 months later...

Ok so I got married on Saturday January 13. I plan on writing a review about the whole thing I promise! But one thing I had to say sooner than later was what happened with our ORIGINAL minister. We booked Scott Parsons months ago and have had plenty of contact with him since over the phone and on the internet. We had sent him the ceremony that we had written a week before we left for Cabo so he was well aware of the time and day of our wedding. Our wedding planner (Tara from Sunset Weddings wonderful by the way!) had been trying to get ahold of him for a few days and heard nothing. The wedding day rolls around and he is nowhere in sight. He never showed. So we had to find a new minister within an hour who turned out to be absolutly fantastic!!! But because of him, our wedding didn't start on time and we had to push it back almost two hours. We had to pay all the catering staff overtime hours which added up to alot!!!! The mariachis could only stay an hour because of another engagement, so my husband and I totally missed them completely because we had to take pictures before the sun went down, which we also didnt want to do because we didnt want to see eachother before the wedding but we had no choice. Two days later on Monday a letter is dropped off at the hotel by Scott Parsons basically apologizing and saying that he had a high fever and was delerious and thought our wedding was on Sunday instead of Saturday. But he never did show up on Sunday for the wedding that he "thought" was that day, and we could not get ahold of him for days before the wedding either. He was not in the hospital or anything either. So pretty much...he forgot. I love all you girl and hope that you love your wedding as much as I loved mine (even with this), and I would never want this to happen to anyone else. If you want my advice, DONT BOOK HIM, and if you already have booked him CANCEL!!! Thank god there was another minister who was able to get there in time or even at all! Please take my adivce I don't want anyone else to go through this.

Wow, Danielle, that's really too bad. It sounds like you have a great attitude about all of this, but that's still awful. And then to lie about it all is even worse, IMHO. Thnaks so much for sharing this with future brides!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
