I think that will look really pretty!  With the beautiful colours of the ocean any colour combination will look great!

Thanks for the links for the veil weights.  Will have to check out studiosuits too, as we haven't found anything for my FI to wear yet. :)

I have bought jewelry in Playa before.  Sometimes it's marked up REALLY high and you can often haggle the staff down.  You can often find something really nice for a good price though (sometimes you have to do a lot of searching though, especially if you have something specific in mind).

This was a very tough decision for my fiance and I. Photos are very important to us, so we were willing to splurge a little in this area. We contacted several photographers in the area and depending on the package can range from $2100 up to $8000.  After contacting a few of the vendors we were still unsure, so we decided to look locally in Ontario. We hired a local company in Ottawa called Union Eleven to do our engagement photos and they are amazing. So amazing that we are paying the travel expenses for the photographer to stay with us at the resort for 7 days in addition to the price of the package. The package  we chose is about $ 3300 for 10 hours+ on the wedding day, plus a few couples shoots before/after the big day and digital rights to all edited photos, plus photo albums, etc.  All in all, with travel expenses we will be paying just under $5000, which I believe is well worth it!

Our wedding group will be in the Riviera Maya, Mexico from Nov 23-30th, 2013. If our dates are close enough to each other, I recommend checking out their work as an option for photography since they will be in the area anyways!. They are awesome! cheesy.gif

Also what is everyone budgeting for photography?
We budgeted 2000$ for photography. We booked hdc photography for 6 hours on our wedding day and am hoping to do a TTD session a day or 2 after the wedding. We decided to do our own prints once we get home. That way we can get exactly what we want/need.

Agreed, you can get a photography package in the $2000+ range, especially if you keep it to 6hrs or under, one photographer and no prints/photo album. There are other people who spend $3000, $4000, $5000 and up. It just depends on who you want to do your package and what you get with it. I looked up reviews on here and I emailed the vendors who had great reviews and whose style I liked. I gave them the general idea of what I was looking for: number of hours, one or two photographers, prints/no prints, albums/no albums, trash the dress session or not, general budget range and see what they can offer you.

I actually am lucky my uncle that will be travelling with us is a photographer, so I am using the resort photographer becasue they are included in our package for 2 hours and then we get to pick what photos we want if any, and then my uncle will get the stuff they arent there for... getting ready, reception that sort of stuff and then I will see if he will do a TTD for us as well! Thank goodness because I think it is the most important part, and I dont have that kind of money LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
