I found some Destination Wedding Tips that I thought I would share with you ladies:

Your beautiful Destination Wedding is just around the corner! Remember these essentials:

SPF

You will still get a tan when wearing sunscreen. Stay protected from harmful rays by wearing an SPF. Try to limit the amount of sun you see before your wedding day. Burns from the sun are painful, and donâ€t make for nice looking pictures. Also – nobody wants to go experience heatstroke/sunstroke. Not a fun experience.

Stay hydrated

Drink plenty of water during your stay! The sun is VERY hot, and alcohol dehydrates you and your skin. Make sure you look and feel fresh by staying hydrated!

Protect your lips

The sun can be harsh on the skin. Especially, your lips. Make sure to keep your lips protected during your stay with an SPF lip balm.

Prep your hair

Anyone having their hair done – make sure to wash it the evening before – unless instructed otherwise. Make sure hair is brushed and dried and ready to go the morning of the big day!

Back-up plan

Try not to get your heart set on one specific hair style. Depending on your hair style and texture it may or may not be able to exactly replicated, also keep in mind the climate of your destination. If it is extremely windy – you may not want your hair blowing around, and may opt for a more soft romantic updo or a classic chignon.

Bring pictures

Bring any pictures of your makeup and hair ideas for a thorough consultation the day of. For hair styles, bring a number of options, things you like and things you donâ€t. And styles for hair both up and down.

Clean and moisturize

For those having makeup done – clean, moisturized faces. Donâ€t forget your SPF!

Eat

Make sure you eat a good sized breakfast/and or lunch and have some snacks throughout the day. Fresh fruit, crackers – bring some protein or granola bars from home! Your wedding day will be a long one, you need to stay nourished and hydrated all day.

Donâ€t roll the dice

Donâ€t try any new skin or hair products too close to your wedding day in case of a reaction. Stick with your usual routine. Facials should be done at least 3-4 weeks prior to your wedding date, Waxing 4-7 days before.

Remember your touch up kits

Bring a bridal touch up kit with you. Keep items like extra firm hairspray, lip gloss or lipstick, pressed powder, blotting papers, bobby pins, sunscreen, breath mints, water and snacks with you.

Get your beauty sleep

Make sure you get plenty of rest the night before!

Remember: Have Fun!!!!! Try not to think about what could go wrong, and focus on what is going RIGHT! Enjoy your time away with loved ones and savor every minute

So excited for you.  We leave the 5th... Ive been  following the weather and it looks like rain from 11/5-11/8, the 8th being my wedding date.  Im really hoping its sunny and no rain... but at this point what can I do but pray... It looks like it supposed to be beautiful the 4th so hopefully you luck out.

Lydia1120,

Ive started tanning this week this way to give me a base, I burn at times so I really want to avoid that.

Ladies! 10 days until I leave.. and thank god for you all - I thought I was crazy here... not sleeping, worrying about silly things.

I did some tanning prior, I'm very fair anyway so I wanted to take some time to build a base.  I might go once or twice again before I go but I burnt my face last time... so no more face tanning!  Thank goodness the burn is gone already.

Today marks 3 weeks until the wedding, we leave in 16 days (OH MY GOODNESS!!!!).  I can hardly believe it - but am ecstatic!!!!

We still need to:

Pack! (hopefully this weekend!!!)

Write our vows/have an idea of how the ceremony will go
Make my foot jewelry (I am starting over from my last two pair)

Last minute beauty appointments

I think that's it!  WOW.  I am still quite nervous about family pulling us in different directions during the wedding...  I hope that this doesn't happen but we shall see!

Good Luck to all the brides flying out soon/already down at their destinations.  I have complete confidence that your weddings will be great!  Please let us know how they go!!!

The weather reports down for down here are never accurate. Sometimes it says it's raining with thundershowers in the current forecast, and all I see is blue sky all day long. Lately it has been raining in the middle of the night a bit, but today is all blue skies! Mostly if it rains, it is just quick bursts of rain and sunshine afterwords. :) November is usually a lot less rainy than September and October.

It also varies along the coast quite a bit and the showers are very isolated. It can be raining in Cancun but sunshine in Playa, or rain in Playa and sunshine 10 minutes up the highway at one of the resorts.

Started seriously packing today.  How overwhelming!  Our tumbler mugs don't stack overly well, so they are taking up a huge amount of space.  I've never had to pack for two weeks before.  I made a list so that is helping...

Any good tips from brides that are packed already?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
