I don't know how I didn't find this board before but I'm Amie and me and the fiance are getting married at the Gran Porto Real in Playa del Carmen on November 8, 2013!  Right now I am slightly overwhelmed with everything and don't even know where to start!  We have 23 confirmed booked guests and possibilities of additions to add on later, but I am not going to worry about that!

I received all my forms from the Wedding Coordinator but I don't even know where to start with those!  And the fiance is in school until mid-April so I have decided not to go much further until he's back to work!  I have plans for OOT bags, Welcome packages, key card holders, luggage tags, etc. We are going to take a mini road trip to the states this summer to see how much we can get for cheap! My fiance's parents have a house in Phoenix as well and will be there the majority of the summer and able to bring us back anything we have shipped to them!

Happy planning everyone! Any tips and suggestions on anything and everything will be helpful!

Welcome and congratulations!!  Having a place to deliver items in the USA will come in  most handy!  There is a bundle of information on this website..absolutely love it!!!!

ALRIGHT November sista brides...I need some help!!!!

I've been tossing and turning about the photographer for our wedding.  I booked Angela Brooks Photography but did not sign a Contract or anything of the sort, just verbal...here is her website http://www.angelabrooksphotography.com/?page_id=1015   and her Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/stacey.hauserman#!/pages/Angela-Brooks-Photography/276142922418634?fref=ts

Angela does good work and she is a GREAT person. I chose her primarily because I know she will get along with everyone (we have 78 going) and she will blend right into the group,  no one would even know she is the photographer.  People would assume that she was a relative or close friend that is also a photographer.

My dilemma is that I am very drawn to the work of Sunset Photography...her website is http://sunsetphotography.zenfolio.com/   and her Facebook Page is https://www.facebook.com/stacey.hauserman#!/pages/Sunset-Photography/252105654831850?fref=ts

I feel that her photographs are much more artistic and really love her style. However, albiet really nice, I don't think she will 'BLEND" in as well with the group.    She is also $600 cheaper but with less experience.

I'm losing sleep over this...I know I know I know...I'm such a loser!!

What do you ladies think I should do?

Lydia, Why dont you get Sunset to do some engagement or another photoshoot and see how it goes then you may feel better with her as a person maybe once she shoots you she will relax a little with you. My other suggestion is to just go with your gut thats hard sometimes but I think that it will work out just fine!

You're BRILLIANT Jolene!!  I am going to do a Boudoir Session  so I'll get both photographers to do a session each (they're only charging $100 each) and see whose work I like better and who I am most comfortable with.

I am just curious how everyone is doing with their planning. Anyone want to share what stage they are at? Personally, I have reserved our date at our resort, and we have a reservation booked at a resort for our second week.  I have not yet booked flights, or booked our stay at the wedding resort. I have my dress, but my fiance doesn't have his suit yet.  My sisters have ordered their BM dresses. Other than that I don't think I have anything else accomplished.  Am I the only one that still hasn't booked trip and flights? Dina
So far we have... Created wedding website Booked our resort and flights (as well as 46 guests have paid deposits) Booked photographer (HDC) Ordered 2 of 3 BM dresses. Bought my wedding band Addressed and stuffed invites (they will go out in the next few weeks) Going dress shopping in 2 weeks. (I know I'm late to the game on this lol) FI has picked his ring but we have not bought it yet. I think that is where we are at so far in the planning process. I am really enjoying things so far.

Hi everyone! We are getting married at Excellence Riviera Cancun on November 15th! Our photographer has been booked, Lori at Sweetfire, and we've booked Mannia as our DJ. Passport invites have been ordered from Allurements by Rebecca and are being printed this week. We're getting there! Can't wait for the big day! Where's everyone going for their honeymoon? Are you staying at the resort you're being married at or going off to somewhere different after the guests leave?

I'm going to start on our playlists soon too. We should share our lists of fun dance songs once we're done!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
