Melb2012 I am thinking of gran Bahia principe Jamaica for 11/12/13 not sure if they will have that date but hopefully we will book soon so confused on resorts. How did you reserve your date and are you doing a civil ceremony? How long is the ride from Montego Bay to the resort do you know... Good luck planning everything

@Cherri Dpends on what time you want your ceremoney... I think I've seen another bride on here somewhere who is also getting married at the Gran Bahia on 11/12/13.

 

I emailed the wedding coordinators at the resort and requested if the date was available. When I got the okay, I reserved my date and time, and proceeded with arranging the trip with my TA.

 

We are going to do the legal paperwork here at home. Although the paperwork/process in Jamaica is far less of a hassle then some of the other islands.

 

I think the resort is 1hour-1 1/2 hours away from the Montego Bay airport. But I'm sure it's good times on the bus if you are going with your wedding party.

Booked for November 4-11, 2013 Grand Palladium Punta Cana! Invitations are at the printer and HOPEFULLY will be done by this week so I can send out next week ! I will finally be able to breathe once they are out and in the mail! *sigh* 

I hopeeee people are cooperative and rsvp as they should and by the due date!!! I can already see this being a frustrating process but I'm hoping for the best! I sent out 45 save the dates (one per household) askin everyone for their full mailing addresses and I only got about 15 people actually sending them to me.  The other 20, I had to hunt down and remind them. and the other 10, I honestly am just gonna tak it as "they're not interested"....to each his own I say! At least they're saving me POSTAGE! LOL

You are right it has been the most frustrating experience this far, I can't believe that people are so not willing to do the RSVP I guess the assume that if they dont book you will know that they arent coming, the 3 people that did RSVP to me, havent even booked with my travel agant so I am not sure what that is about I am going to assume for now that they are making their own arragenments LOL But hey I read and re read that no one does it and I still stayed positive as I could until it happened to me!

Hey ladies! A fellow November 2013 bride here, We are getting married at the Dreams Palm Beach Resort in Punta Cana 11-12-13 we have 47 confirmed guests counting us. I am so excited and having a blast planning.

So other than sending out invites, what else are you girls working on now? I'm going wedding dress shopping this weekend, which will be a big checkmark off the list. I feel like I should start some projects now while I have the time, perhaps the OOT bags. Or maybe the dance playlist.

This week I am trying to figure out who my photographer/videographer will be...this will be quite a task I'm sure.  I also would like to join a gym hopefully and find some motivation to go lol.  I was thinking of starting on my OOT bags but I think I'll do that more down the road....however, if i do see things on sale, of course I'll buy and start collecting here n there.

I am not doing OOT bags anymore because we have over 45 people going and I think that will add up fast... so I am going to do Luggage Tags and a pre-travel brochure, and also room key card holders! I have ordered the lanyards for the key holders and I have the luggage tags but other than that, I think that there is still so much time that I havent done anything else.

 

I have my dress it will be here in April and still have to make up my mind on shoes and a veil... I want to go barefoot but I might need shoes for everything else, I want a flower and not sure if I should do that and a veil, and my dress has a lot of bling so I dont think I will need jewellery, and I still can't chose Bridesmaids dresses! LOL too much time to have to make a choice.

 

I did make a couple pairs of Barefoot sandals and it was pretty easy so I may do a pair for all the females travelling with us, but I am not pressuring myself!

 

britter08, where in Calgary do you live? This is awesome weather that we are having isnt it!
