Book with him direct - he charges $350 but often times the resorts mark that price up. Just contact him directly and then tell the resort after you have him booked you are having him do the ceremony. Then pay him directly the day of the wedding.

I too, am booking Pastor York for my wedding at the Paradisus. He told me I owe him $350 for the ceremony the day of the wedding. The Paradisus is charging me $638 for this "religious" ceremony and have stated that they will pay him the $350 out of this $638 charge. Can anyone confirm this for me? Just sounds fishy....

That does sound weird.  I wanted to book him as well but he is unavailable for my date so I never got around to asking him what his fee is.  However, I have seen several  posts on here stating his fee is $350.  When I asked Paradisus how much it would be to have a Pastor do the "symbolic religious" ceremony, they told me $450. They're now trying to find me another Pastor to do the service since he can't do it.

Did you book him on your own or through Paradisus? I booked him directly and told Paradisus it was taken care of. If you already booked him on your own you don't have to pay via Paradisus but if the resort does it for you they upcharge it.

If you booked through Paradisus I would still challenge them on the cost and hope they lower the price. The people on site are great but the salespeople will try to nickel and dime you.

yeah I actually booked directly through Pastor York and he told me just to directly pay him $350 the day of the ceremony. Then, Paradisus is trying to charge me $638 for NOT using their spanish speaking guy and translator by saying this is a "religious" ceremony by using Pastory York. They are saying that I do not owe $638 plus $350, and make it sound like they are going to pay him, but I just don't trust them! I feel like the Miami coordinator (Marilyn) is trying to jip me on A  LOT of stuff.

Oh dear that isn't good at all... Isn't it laid out in a contract somewhere what the pricing would be and who it is payable too??

If you booked with Pastor Rick direct then be very clear that you have done so and made the arrangements on your own and will not pay them anything for his services that you will pay him directly. I contacted Pastor Rick myself and didn't pay Paradisus anything for his services. Be firm and tell them that you don't want them to pay or contact Pastor Rick and that you have him confirmed already.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
