Please feel free to ask me anything - I will give you honest answers and am happy to give you tips to make your experience as great as mine was!

Hi, I'm actually wondering how the entertainment staff was at the riu palace? Did they have a lot of activities during the day too? My fiancé and I have stayed at the riu negril and we loved the constant entertainment they had there, but I heard the beach is way nicer for a wedding at the riu palace tropical bay. Wondering what your experience was like? Thank you!

Hi! Congrats on your wedding! I actually have a question about the entertainment staff. My fiancé and I have actually been to the riu negril before and we loved the constant activities they had going on all through out the day, from beach volleyball to horse shoes on the beach and many more. I was wondering if the riu palace tropical bay has all these activities as well? Imtorn on which resort to go with, I'm leaning toward the riu palace because I heard they have a nicer beach for weddings. Any imput would help, thank you!!

Congratulations and thrilled to see your post!  We are planning a wedding at RPTBay for July 2013 and want to know everything!  Did you have a beach wedding and was it private?  How many weddings does the resort host per day?  Can you share costs on the reception component?  Any information and/or photos you have to share would be brilliant!!

Hi!!! I just confirmed my wedding for November 26, 2013 at the RIU tropical bay! I'm super excited and stressed at the same time since I'm finishing up my last year of grad school. We have the evening ceremony which I'm happy about. :) which package did you have? Did you get to choose colors as far has table cloths and flowers? My wedding planner said there is no rehearsal which I'm nervous about. How did that work? So happy to have found you. And congrats on your wedding!!!!!!!!:D;)

I too recently booked our wedding at the Palace Tropical Bay for October 12th, 2013.  I've been working with Ann Marie, she has been really great and very helpful.  I'm finding out things are expensive in different ways.  the chair covers with bows cost $12 per chair, its $12 per person over 10 that go to the wedding if you choose the "free package".  The officiant is $500 with the free package.  You only get a choice between 2 bouquets without an additional charge.

I keep second guessing myself on the resort even though I've heard wonderful reviews and looked at great pictures, but I was checking out the Ochios Rios Riu, which looked much nicer.

I saw a youtube video of a bride getting married on the Palace Tropical Bay beach, and there were people all around watching, and one even walked through the wedding.. I don't mind if some people are on the beach, but I don't want to be in the middle of everything and have that in all of my photos.

I look forward to hearing your experiences with this and your thoughts.

Hello & congrats! I was married at the RPTB in August 2010. I brought with me a real to touch bouquet, but the one they provided was very beautiful as well. It was private and nobody bothered us during the ceremony. I walked through the garden/private walkway towards the beach area. I brought a cd with music to walk to. They set everything up on the side away from a crowd. I had the basic free pkg. I had a local photographer from the states who lives in Jamaica now.....do a beautiful pkg for us the following week along with trash the dress pics. His name is Brian Nejedly 876-355-8036....very reasonable & professional.I highly recommed checking out his site.

if they are staying 3 days at the resort then you don't have to pay the vendor fee.  Ask your wedding planner at the resort about this, and have email confirmation.  I looked into this already because the fee is $350 or so.  Hope this helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
