Wedding at Gran Bahia Principe Mexico

Hi There,

Im getting married at the Gran Bahia Coba Mexico in Jan 2013 & just wondered if anyone has any up to date info for me on this venue. Which is the best, the Gazebo or beach location & which is best restaurant for the weddine meal?

Also how much flowers, photos & hair etc cost.

I have not been married here but I have just registered as both my fiance and I would like to get married here.

 

I have been for the last 2 days looking at reviews for the resort and it seems a lot of people have been married at the Gazebo in Tulum - I would have loved to get married on the beach but looking at videos and photo's online it seems quite a walk you have to make and if it is windy I can imagine dresses flying everywhere. Both area's look amazing though and the overall reviews seem to advise that if on the day the weather doesn't look the best the wedding planner advice's it is best to change and it is all done so easily and doesn't interfere with the day at all. Also most of the reviews, the brides say go with your gut on where you want the ceremony and reception as all the areas are amazing.

 

With the reception meal, they have all been varied and every one has been good reviews advising that even though the restaurants are open to guests that they have either had an area of the restaurant to themselves or they have eaten a little earlier than it opens.

 

Sorry I haven't got concrete evidence through being a bride to help but I hope this assist's a little - please update us when you have had your wedding as all the comments are helping us steer towards the resort.

 

We have had a holiday at the resort and it was AMAZING!! this is why we would want to go back and get married.

Just to let you know that my fiance & i have chosen the Gazebo location & also i agree with you about the wedding meal as all of the reviews are really good.We have finally gone for the Brazillian Restaurant.

The planning has so far been very straight forward even though it has been by email but our wedding planner, Jazmin is very prompt with her replies & has already sent us pics of all the diff locations as well as flower brochures etc.

Really looking forward to it now & i will keep you informed on future progress

check out the following links, both are dedicated to Gran Bahia Principe Riviera Maya. The second has all up-to-date information on prices, options etc. My husband and I were married there in May and chose Tulum Gazebo for our ceremony location. Our room had a view of the Akumal beach, which is an extremely popular location choice. It was a gorgeous location, the walk is long but very beautiful. The wind is going to be anywhere, it wasn't as bad at the gazebo but there definitely was still a breeze.  Happy planning and good luck!

Hi, I get married at the tulum gazebo 24th April 2013 and I would really appreciate your help on what documents are required for the wedding. Me and my fiancee are both from uk and have not been adopted, my wedding coordinator is stating only my birth certificate needs to be certfied and translated yet the translation company is sayinh its required for both the bride and groom and also thomas cook states this too. It would be much cheaper if only its required for the one so I dot want to get both certificates translated for the sake of it. Please could somebody clarify. Thanks

We are from Scotland and holidaying from 10 > 24 June 2013  with 20 other family and friends.   We get married on 20 June having holidayed at the Bahia Principe chain of hotels for the last 18 years - all over the world and have stayed at the Mayan Riveria twice before. It is beautiful and the staff cannot do enough for you, we love it so much hence we are getting married there.

 

We are both divorced and I reverted back to my maiden name, we have been advised by the WC at Bahia :-

The Bahia are continually putting brides mind at ease regarding the confusion Travel Agents cause by giving FALSE information regarding having to get birth and divorce documents translated and legalised.

 

There is NO requirement for any of the GROOM'S documents to be translated or legalised this applies whether he HAS or HAS NOT been married before.

 

If the BRIDE has been married before and has reverted back to her maiden name, provided this is the name she travels on and is the name that is on her passport again there is NO requirement for any of the bride's documents to be translated or legalised

 

Translation and legalisation is required is when a bride has divorced but kept her married name (Ive never heard of anyone doing this) These are a note of some amazing and helpful thread/links
