Best style of dress for a TTD

Recommended Posts

I am purchasing a separate dress for our TTD session and I feel a bit overwhelmed. What are your thoughts on the best style of dress for a TTD? Trying to think what looks best underwater? What material works well wet? Those sort of things....

Ladies thoughts?

I'm sorta new here but I figure you guys are talking about destroying the dresses....or at least wearing them into the water.

hmmm interesting idea....I think the dress that I love would work for that....its Martina Liana 359 so you have the lace overlay and then the under dress like two dresses....that way you could take off a layer and it wouldn't be so heavy.

Anyways I am going to go look up what TTD means.

Happy Weddings!

TTD stands for trash the dress, doesn't always mean you destroy it, but you play around in the ocean or pool, lie in the sand, etc. Often done the day after wedding with your hubby and a photographer. And I googled your dress, it's gorgeous! Have you already bought it?

I am planning this on wearing my real wedding dress for the the TTD. Mine has a layerred organza bottom so i figure that it will dry out fairly quickly. Also i want to put the pictures in the same album so i figure don't want the dresses to be different.

Hola shanandcal,

Congrats on your upcoming wedding!!!

While a lot of our gals wear their actual wedding dress to the TTD Session or also know as a "Wash the Dress Session"....it is normal but not necessary to buy a separate one. I guess this is more of a personal choice, just make sure you pick a dress you feel comfortable and beautiful in.

Here are some of our most recent mermaid couples to give you a bit of inspiration:

Tegan + Tyson - We loved her dress underwater!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
