Anyone know anything about Wright travel agency?!

Recommended Posts

Hello all future brides I am looking into using a travel agency and found "Wright" travel agency and requested some information. I just received an email from Babs who informed me that she will be working with us to coordinate flights and hotel stay as well as communicate with the wedding coordinator and she said they DO NOT charge a fee. Naturally I became somewhat suspicious and I just want to know if anyone out there has used their services and how effective were they? Also does anyone know why they don't charge a fee? I'm trying to explore my best options and am just nervous about the whole thing so any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you!

Hi there, Wright doesn't charge fees because (I think) their commissions come from the resorts and vendors they book for you. They are a great company. I worked with Patty, and she was great! The owner of Wright Travel is also the owner of this site.

From my experience, the bad agents charge fees up-front and the reputable ones recieve their commissions from the resorts and cruiselines, etc. That was my small, terrible experience though, that may not be the industry standard.

I just got back recently from our wedding at the Now Jade.  I worked with Wendy from Wright Travels as well and she was awesome! So sweet and extremely helpful! She took care of all of our guest bookings and was always on top of everything! Good luck!

Hi Sheryl,

I am the owner of BDW and also Wright Travel.  We are a travel Agency that specializes in destination weddings (you can read more about it here: Who owns BDW?-Wright Travel Agency)

Here is some info about Wright Travel Agency.

Our agents are very experienced and knowledgeable about their destinations.  We have great relationships with the different resorts and suppliers and because of our volume and BDW, we get issues handled really quickly so our clients are usually pretty happy with us.

We do not charge a planning fee because we don't really need to.  Most inquiries that come to us end up using us.  Some don't and wish they had ;)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
