The beach there is smaller than in some areas (they lost a lot of the beach a few years ago due to a hurricane). However the beach is beautiful, and the resort is stunning after being completely renovated about 2 years ago. The dress rehearsal is a great way for you to look at the property, taste the food, experience their fantastic service, and of course get away with your FI for a few days!

Murmel, thanks for the information. We've read on some reviews on Trip Advisor that people say to definitely book the remodeled rooms not the older rooms at Azul Beach, do you know at this time, have all rooms been remodeled or only some? Are there any other tips you could give for the property?

The Azul Beach, is one of the smallest of the Karisma resorts. So if you are looking for a private feel this is perfect. We had considered Azul Beach for our wedding, however they were still in the middle of renovations, and I didn't want that mess. So we choose their sister resort down the beach, the Sensatori (slightly larger at 440 rooms, and a few extra restaurants). I know they had started the renovations about 3 years ago, and the main parts (lobby, restuarants) are complete. I think they are still upgrading some rooms, but I am not sure. This should not disrupt much though.

The Azul Beach is a family friendly resort, and so you should be aware they are very targeted to making a family vacation wonderful. If you will be travelling with adults only, you could also consider the El Dorado Royale. This is adult only, and hence a little more upscale and quiet. Overall, the Karimsa resorts are a great choice. My husband and I travel a lot, and we are always impressed by their service and quality of food. ( take what you see on TripAdvisor with a grain of salt. A lot of people don't seem to understand that things don't happen as quickly in Mexico, as they do here. Remember to relax and go with the flow. I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding. And it was so relaxing and easy going for me, not having to do any of the work once we arrived in Mexico. They seriously took care of everything for us. The online WC in Miami can be a little slow to respond, but once you are in Mexico, the on site WC are amazing and professional! They know how to handle a wedding!)

Best of luck planning! And if you have questions, just ask.

The countdown is on! 2 days until we leave for our Dress Rehersal at Azul Beach. We are really excited. We talked to our TA who helped us with the booking and have arrangements to go visit Azul Fives and Azul Sensatori while we are there as well. Hopefully between the three, we'll finally be able to pick a resort for our 2014 wedding.

Hi CDC-SRW!
We leave Thursday for Azul Beach Dress Rehearsal, I'm sure we'll see you there! Have they given you any kind of itinerary? We rented a car because we wanted to check out some other resorts and do some shipping but I've heard they may have us booked with activities everyday?

XOXO

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
