How much was the Mexican Trio if you don't mind me asking? I think Mariachi band at $900 is a bit much for an hour!

TarynM-The trio was $600 for basically an hour. We used it for the cocktail between the ceremony and reception. They did a great job. Originally I wanted the mariachi band, but the cost got me in the end!

Hello Everyone,

I am happy to report that we have added a new member to the BDW Team (and hope to add more in the near future!).

Congratulations to Miriam (Murmel).  Miriam has done an amazing job helping Azul Sensatori Brides and will now work on being the Brand Specialist for all of the Karisma Hotels (Azul Sensatori, Azul Beach, Azul Fives, El Droado Maroma, El Dorado Seaside, El Dorado Royal & El Dorado Casitas).

She will pretty much continue doing what she has been doing, which is helping BDW brides!

Welcome to the BDW Team, Miriam!

Ashley, I made a flickr account with pictures of the resort. I did take some of the sky terrace. You can check it out here.

I don't know if you'll be able to tell from the pictures, but the area where they do the cocktails is like one level lower than where they do the weddings. If I'm remembering right, it was too small for my group (55 people), but it was definitely a neat spot.

Thanks Kaela!  I think that was the pic I saw a while back so perfect! Does it go back any farther or is what you see in the pic pretty much it? We still don't know how many people will be showing up for our wedding. We have 16 booked but the deadline for the early deposit has passed so hopefully people are just willing to accept the fact that they risk it costing more, rather than not coming! We are now planning for a smaller wedding than anticipated so hoping the spaces we choose will not look too empty.

Ashley,

From what I remember, that was pretty much the extent of the "cocktail area." My guess is that if they have a larger party, maybe they open up the area where the actual ceremonies are performed? It's adjacent to that area in the picture. But that's just a guess. That to say, I don't think it would look too empty with a smaller party in that area. You'll also have tables and service staff that also take up some "space." I will say, the view is beautiful up there. BUT, it's pretty windy and there's absolutely no shade. So, keep that in mind depending on what time of day you were thinking.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
