Hair & Makeup Services

Recommended Posts

I got married last Oct 2012 and I used Neysa Berman for hair and makeup. I highly recommend her and her staff. She was really great and very professional. Her staff were simply lovely, we had a great time with them. And their work is perfection.

I didn't want to use the Riu's makeup services because I didn't find good reviews about them. So I stretched the budget a bit for the makeup and I'm so glad I did. She was worth the $$. You don't want to look back at your wedding photos and have regrets.

By the way we went to a nearby spa (which was SO FANTASTIC) to get the services. The Riu charges $300 for any outside vendor to come to their property. Just ridiculous angry.gif

Thank you! I looked her up and her work is amazing. Plus her prices are reasonable. I'm putting her in my budget and using the credit I have in our package for my mom. I'm sure they do a great job as well.

Thanks for giving us feedback!

Well I ended up booking Alma Vallejo for our hair and makeup in Cabo. She did an awesome job on everything and everybody! She came to our resort and was wonderful and pleasant. She was a fraction of the cost from Neysa and Suzanne. She charged $110.00 per person for hair and airbrush makeup both with 11% tax fee on top of that. But I was not charged a travel fee or 18% gratuity fee. She charged me $30.00 to do my daughter's hair and did a little makeup on her. When I get images back from my photographer I will post some for you guys.

her website is:

her new website she is working on right now is:

I totally agree with Taraneh. Alma Vallejo and Mabel did an amazing job with the hair and make-up. With the July heat and slight humidity, the make-up stayed and the hair was not frizzy. Her price was very reasonable and her assistant copied what we want when it comes to the hair styles. I was staying at RIU Palace and the spa was charging a lot more plus the spa does not even offer airbrush make-up. Of course, RIU Palace policy was if you want an outside vendor, there is an applicable fee that will apply. With all the negotiating with the RIU management, I paid $150 for vendor fee (not per person but per vendor. And RIU Palace was originally charging me $300 for vendor fee)

The additional fee I paid at RIU Palace was worth it. Alma and Mabel did an amazing job and highly recommended to all future Cabo brides.

Hey Mcsalinas214- How did you swing getting the vendor fee lowered to 150$$? I would love my hair and makeup people to come to the resort. I hate the thought of leaving the resort to get my hair and makeup done the morning of, especailly casue some of my bridesmaids have opted to do their own hair and makeup and I dont wanna leave any of them behind while the rest of us go and get our hair done. However, I refuse to spend 300$ on a vendor fee. that is absoluately crazy! lol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
