RIU Palace Punta Cana 2013

Recommended Posts

So I e-mailed the wedding coordinator a few months ago and heard back about a few details. I just e-mailed her back about 2013 pricing for upgrades and DJ and such, hopefully will hear back soon.

The biggest thing I am worried about is guests booking at other resorts, since we have to pay an additional $200/person if they are not staying at the resort. Does anyone know if guests stay at a RIU resort, do we still have to pay that? I would think not since we can go to any other RIU in Punta Cana.

Does anyone have opinions on using the resort minister (we are having a symbolic but are trying to decide on having my brother officiate, bringing in out side pastor or using theirs)??

Thanks!

Amanda

Hi im getting married at the riu palace bavaro and yes if your guests are not staying at your resort the 200 dollar fee stands, also i was informed if 80% of your guests are not staying at your resort it can affect your ceremony! Hope that helps i am from the uk so it might be different with other tour operators! Kind regards Gemma xxx

My FI and I did a site visit that past March and I managed to sneek a peek at a few weddings from afar when I was there. The resort minister does not speak english so will perform the ceremony and the WC stands beside him and translates. I personally, would prefer to have someone else but don't have any other options unfortunately.

Hi philanab, If your want you can check the possibility to hire another minister from outside, I´ve undestood that is not expensive at all. Pastor York, for example he´s very popular.

I checked Riu Palace Punta Cana to accommodate my guests, my wedding ceremony and reception will be at Kukua Restaurant, next door Riu palace. I´m soo excited .I´m still undecided about the resort. But probably we ´ll choose Riu. I heard bad news about  food and drinks. Any reviews?

HI ladies!  I am getting married at the riu palace bavaro in punta cana aug 3rd but I am asking anyone who has been married or visited the riu resorts.  I was planning on wearing and having my bridesmaids wear barefoot sandals for the beach ceremony.  Our ceremony starts at 600pm.  Some of my bridesmaids are worried the sand will be to hot to walk in the barefoot sandels.  I wouldnt think so being it will be 6pm but does anyone have any experience that could let me know if thats a good idea?

Thank you and congrats to everyone! =))

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
