Sanctuary Cap Cana Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, we just got back from Cap Cana from last weekend and have our date set a month after you carori.  We had an AMAZING time, they took care of us very well and the pricing has been great so far.  After dealing with several other resorts and them not budging on price or completely horrible communication, we decided to get in contact with Cap Cana and eventually fly down (which we did).  We were in contact with the VA office, they would write back quickly so we knew we were onto to something, eventually we were passed on to Sarah and that's who we met in the resort.  She took great care of us and showed us around the resort, we are very excited and are willing to help anyone out with any questions.  We opted for the Europen Room rates instead of the all inclusive, the majority of our party will be staying at the Fishing Village and coming over to Sanctuary to hang out during the day.

The resort was going through some renovations, but they should be up and running at 100% by the winter.  I am Dominican and my fiancee is American (but speaks spanish) so we were able to switch from one to the other and check to see how the staff members were.  The majority of our party will be English speaking, and we are expecting from 80-120 guests.  The main thing that is different from this resort compared to lets say the Barcelo resorts and Paradisus Palma Real that we visited was the service.  We went to a wedding in Barcelo and it was ok (bad service, screw ups), Paradisus Palma Real was nice but they had horrible communication and they wouldnt budge on price and wanted kids under 10 (which we will have 15) to pay $90 per kid per day which is ridiculous.

Anyway, after seeing all the wedding packages available, this will be an epic wedding with what we are going for.  If any of you brides or grooms have any questions feel free to contact me or share anything.  The resort treated us perfect, the service was amazing and the food was the best ive had in any resort in Punta Cana.  I loved the fact that our guests wont have to wear stupid bands and have towel cards, and that they will have a seperate check in available for our guests for the wedding party alone.

This is all amazing information.  After searching for what feels like months we are finally almost settling with Sanctuary Cap Cana... I have a few questions for those that have previously made the trek down there.  My fiance and I have a fairly active family with a variety of ages, is this resort appropriate?  I know they are new and that's what appeals to us but it doesn't seem they have some 'family' oriented activities such as snorkeling, hobbie cats etc. that the other resorts do.  While some of us will use the spa etc, there are a bulk of us that the ability to snorkel just off the shore is extremely appealing.  Any insight to this?  Also how much of a discount on the room rates did they provide?  Just curious, not sure if it makes a difference.

How are you all deciding on which venue to hold your reception/get married in?  I feel like the photos are lacking.  Has anyone visited the resort and decided that way?  Also is anyone bringing/shipping their decorations?  It seems as though that is encouraged... or are you just resorting to a DR wedding planner?

Any help is appreciated, really hoping this isn't a dead thread.  Thank you!

Hi, I went to visit the resort last March, and during the tour we checked all the places we could use for the wedding, cocktail and reception. We opted for the Ocean View Lounge. We wanted initially to make the wedding in front of the beach but it will be a catholic ceremony and that is not allowed, it can be in the lounge inside though.

If you would like to see more photos, this photographer has done some weddings and photo sessions in Sanctuary and Fishing Lodge and has some nice pictures on her blog, here is an example: http://www.*****novablog.com/secrets-sanctuary-wedding-photographer-evelyn-roman/

About the decorations, I'm not sure yet if i will bring my own, still exploring possibilities :)

Hello, I too am thinking about getting married at Sanctuary Cap Cana. It seems like a beautiful and peaceful resort.

The only issue I am having is the getting to the website and getting an number to contact someone in the wedding department.  Everytime I google the website it leads me to their facebook page. I tried calling the eight hundred number listed on their facebook page, but got no answer. It just kept on ringing :(

Can anyone provide me with a contact #, please? Or, would it be best to email someone @ the hotel?

Hello everyone, I am going to have to tell you my story with this hotel. I felt in love since the first day I so it online, I didn't even want to see more, because I was sure that was it. My wedding is 12/08/12 or was I don't even know, because they just called me this past friday and told me that they are canceling my wedding, yes, my wedding.... One month before the big day..... Because they overbooked the hotel ... Bla bla bla and neither me the bride, or guesst have no room any more. We have booked this wedding since feb 2012, and all my guest have bought their room since then as well not only that but their plane. I had a lot of problems with Alexandra at the biginning because she took for ever to respond a simple mail, now there is a new girl Sarah, and she is the same.... Slow and incompetent as she could be. Today is wednesday and I still know nothing about what is going to happen with my wedding, and with my guesst, we all now have to deal with airlines and stuff. I am so sorry for you all that are getting married here, including my self. But my time is running against me since they canceled one month before my wedding, this is the worse nightmare I've ever suffered. My suggestion will be, make the hotel make a contract for the wedding and for the rooms, get something written by them, so you have any proof in hand just in case something happen. I wish you all luck. Will be posting as soon as as this f**** ers resolve my situation. They are trying to send us to the fishing lodge... But hell no, I wanted Sanctuary......

that is horrible! so sorry to hear this happened to you. Please keep us posted on what happens. It's a little strange they claim to be overbooked since recent reviews on Trip Advisor say the place is practically empty. I highly doubt a bunch of people reserved before February when you did and you would think if reservations need to be cancelled, a wedding would have priority over random people. Contact corporate, good luck!

Hi!

My fiance and I want to plan our wedding at the Sanctuary Cap Cana, and would really appreciate help with this big endeavor!

We aren't sure who to communicate with- could you share contact info? We wanted to plan for early March, but that is just too soon, otherwise open to dates. Any suggestions on time of year to plan, ie low season, comfortable weather, less tourists.

We want to have a traditional East Indian celebration, and hope our closest 80-100 family members and friends will celebrate with us. We will likely have our guests staying between this hotel and a neighboring place- can you suggest reasonable accommodations close by to the Sanctuary?

We are really excited, and can't thank you enough for your help- and anyone else that can share planning suggestions and advice with us!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
