After eight weeks and nothing but incorrect room block pricing, I might give up. Alexandra has yet to send me a contract. I have been waiting over a month. I sent an email to the head of hospitality as well as the CEO on Friday detailing how I am begging to send them business. I haven't. Heard back. I have never seen a company run this way. The pricing is very high for such poor service. I haven't found another place I like as much so I'm very disappointed. Stay tuned.

Carori- how expensive are the rooms? On the website it says from $213 and up, which is affordable but when I put in dates, the prices shoot up. I was hoping to get married here in late June 2013 or July. I am a teacher and want to get married when school is over. The Eternal Bliss Package is excellent for us price wise and we have about 50 people coming to our wedding- but not if the price is going to be exorbitant! We looked into the Majestic but it's like a wedding factory with 4-5 weddings a day and the dates we wanted are booked because we had a terrible travel agent who waited weeks to even call us back. She advised us not to go through the hotel ourselves because she'd negotiate better prices and the result was losing our date.

We have a new travel agent who has already contacted the hotel but it worries me that you and other brides are saying they take a while to return the communication. I thought a destination wedding was the easier alternative once I became frustrated by planing a wedding here. It's turning out to be quite the opposite!

How expensive are the rooms running your guests?

Worried Bride!

Hi Evelyn, I also got the Eternal Bliss package, it seemed like a really good deal, but please be aware that the decorations are not included: center pieces, other flowers, extra lightning, tiffany chairs (only the foldable chairs are included), and other decoration you might want. About the rooms, I negotiated directly with the hotel, since my guests are traveling from different countries, so I couldn't get a travel agent that could service all of them.

The price I got for my guests depends on how many people stay in a room: if it's a double room is $216 per person per night. So, the room for two is $432 per night. If the room is only for single use is around $314 per person per room. There are more expensive rooms also, with an ocean view. I also found out if my guests could stay in the Fishing Lodge without paying a day pass, and they can :) there is a bit cheaper, around $195 per person per night in a room occupied by 2 and $271 for a room taken by 1 person. I should mention that i got the rates in January, so, I don't know if they changed them or they are the same... :S

Hi Cltbride, did you have any luck with contacting Sanctuary? I am now in contact with Sarah, not anymore with Alexandra. Sarah so far replies to my emails very fast. I hope you had better luck with the communication and planning your wedding :)

I gave up and have booked my wedding elsewhere. They still have not followed up with me. I was told that I would have to pick everything out from vendors including dishes. The only thing included in the 6700 package was tables and chairs. After I saw the pictures and realized all the extras I decided it was more work than I wanted for a destination wedding. A wedding coordinator should coordinate and I never got any help or suggestions. Despite contacting the VP of the company. Beware of the room block contract. My fiancee is an attorney and he had to send the contract back four times for revisions ( spelling errors, incorrect pricing, and wrong dates. This resort looks beautiful but they do not have their act together. I hope you havebetter luck. I had to move on after three months and zero progress.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
