What is your budget for the dress?

Recommended Posts

@@Kyliewylie Lol. My mom told me the same thing. My budget was originally $500 so I could keep it under $1000 with alterations, but fell in love with a $1100 dress, so that went out the window.

mine has come out to $1500 - I had budgeted 12-1500 so i'm ok with this...

I was pretty good with my fittings in ONLY trying dresses on in my range. I made that clear to the shop when I came in. That way I didnt fall in love with something way over my budget....

I was also between 3 dresses that I loved but once I tried on THE ONE my best friend and mom's reaction did it for me...

I thought that I'd have to spend a fortune on a wedding dress (I've watched WAY too many episodes of say yes to the dress).  I went to look at dresses back in February and I found THE DRESS, but the problem is that my wedding won't be for a while so I had to leave it.  My dream dress was $899.99 at David's Bridal.  The veil was I think about $120.00.  So I set a budget of $1,200.00, for the dress including accessories and the veil.

Oh what a relief to hear dresses aren't as much as I was thinking!! I haven't set a budget yet..I just know I don't want to spend a fortune on something I'll wear once..

I'm going dress shopping this month..I've been putting it off because my boobs are huge as my baby is only 4 months old and still nursing...but it's getting to be crunch time I guess so ill at least go look.. wish I didn't have to buy a dress so soon because I know my body is changing back to pre - pregnancy and what if I like it now but hate it by March..

Oh yes the post pregnancy chest :)  Does SK have a David's Bridal?   They have very budget friendly dresses. I almost didn't go to them because I was worried they would be cheap looking, but they totally are not!

I ordered mine in early May and it took 2.5 months to come in.  They had told me 3.     On the other hand, they told me my BM dresses will take 14 weeks, so we shall see.   Not sure why so long?

I really don't know if there's a David Bridal here...lol...im going bridesmaid dress shopping on the 6th with my girls and they have all done this before so I will find out them what stores we have lol.. my MOH was disappointed to find out I wasn't trying any dresses...she says she will convince me to try some.. so we will see... I'm scared of being disappointed and not liking how I look in a wedding dress..

The budget for the dress comes down to first look at what you can afford and second to pay a bit more for a dress that you deeply fall in love with it...I have visited so many boutiques and nothing is working for me :( I am almost for one but it is $1,700 and not sure if that really makes me feel I love it to pay that much...I bet if I was super in love with it I would not think twice. i am so confused that will end up ordering online with measurements ...very confused.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
