We LOVE the Playacar Palace for its superb service, location and surroundings (Mayan ruins nearby)!! Of course the Moon Palace is a great resort as well, but if you are looking for a modern and intimate wedding...Playacar is the way to go!!!

Most hotels and vendors start taking reservations 12 months in advance, so if you are considering 2014 you might be a bit too early.

Happy Planning!!

Hey what time did they allow you to have your reception until on the beach? And did they charge you 12 per person set up fee and a 60/hr 60/per table fee? :)

I made silk flower bouquets and am bringing them down.  I had our videographer look at them last night and he said that it wouldn't look any different on camera. He actually liked the depth of colour on the flowers and that they wouldn't wilt.  I bought the silk flowers from Michael's and just made the bouquets exactly the way I wanted them.

Hola playacar brides,

I am getting married at playacar palace May 2014! I had a question for those of you who have been down there. For my reception I was originally planning to get a light up dance floor on the beach, but after seeing some pictures of the deck on the beach I'm thinking that might be the best option? It seems like it's more roomy and would spare me the cost of the dance floor. Any advice from brides who have had events on either the beach or the deck??

Thanks so much!

That's awesome!

What all have you gotten planned with her so far? I feel like I am soooo behind. I've only picked my private events (including reception and stuff) and the meals for them. And that's about it, I'm stuck and I'm only 3 months away.....

Hello Playacar Palace brides! I'm a newlywed from Vancouver, Canada that lives down here in Playa Del Carmen. I have quite a few decor items leftover from our wedding in May, mostly in a rustic vintage style. I've decided to rent things out to brides that don't want to lug things like vases & mason jars down here to Mexico, and have priced things quite fairly compared to the resorts' prices. I have a lots of different types of bottles, mason jars, vases and lanterns, as well as a variety of other items like wooden signs & frames and rustic birdcages.

If you want a Style Me Pretty or Ruffled type of wedding in Mexico without a huge price tag, I'm your gal! I'm also always interested in buying items that brides bring down and would like to sell after their weddings. Actually, one of the brides I bought some things from for our wedding got married at Playacar Palace!

If you'd like to see some photos and a price list, please send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you all the info. Also if anyone has any questions about the area, ask away! I've lived in Playa for two years and know the area quite well. Happy planning ladies!

Here's a couple of photos of the items we used in our wedding:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
