I was going to do OOT bags, but with nearly 100 people coming we have now changed things. We decided to order mugs for everyone from Factory 21 on ebay. We already ordered a few OOT items, so we will put those inside of the mugs: individually wrapped tylenols, Emergen-C's, band-aids, a toy water gun, some moist towelettes, a mini flashlight, and a condom hehe.

Iâ€m going to be pre- packing them and carrying them all down in suitcases….

What customs issues have you heard of?

Iâ€m also bringing down chair sashes, buri fans, bridesmaids bouquets, a trash –the-dress dress, floating lanterns, and some table decorations… My family members will be bringing down an extra suitcase each since they donâ€t need a second one anyways (and only $25 for a second suitcase per person).

welcome4.gifnew brides to be!!!

I decided against doing a complete OOT bag.  Instead I ordered cotton tote bags and am ironing on a different design for the girls and guys to be used as a beach bag.  I'll be giving one to each guest as they arrive along with a welcome and thank you for coming card, which will include a schedule of the weeks events.  At the reception I am doing beeswax taper candle favours.

I am bringing so many other decorations down with me that it'll be a miracle if I can get it all there, haha!

tkzuma,

Do you mind if I ask what ARE your schedule of events for the week? I'd like to print something off but I really don't have any idea what we will be doing yet. I'm sure closer to the date I will know the schedule for the wedding day better (well.... I hope so at least!). Are you organizing other events?

thanks!

Hey jreist,

At this time my approximate weeks' events schedule is...

Sunday or Monday (everyone arrives either Saturday or Sunday) 8-10 pm: Welcome Smores Bonfire Party on the beach

Wednesday 6 pm: Rehearsal followed by family & wedding party dinner

Thursday 3 pm: Wedding Ceremony

                6-7 pm: Cocktail hour

                7-11 pm: Reception

Saturday 10 am: Farewell Brunch

Hope that helps!

I think I'm going to have to experiment with the weights once my mugs arrive. It might be easiest for me to put everything inside my mugs at home first (since they all fit inside anyways), but if that makes it too heavy then I may have to separate them.

I am afraid that my mug order is going to be huge and that I will have serious regrets... I'm impatiently waitinf for them to arrive.

I'm on the lookout for extra suitcases that people don't need, so that I can pack a bunch to bring down to Jamaica, but not have to bring it back with me again. (ex I dont want to bring mack and empty suitcase that used to house my mugs, since its an extra $25 luggage fee). Otherwise, I've heard that some people pack everything as boxes and put it in the oversized luggage area. But I've heard that some air carriers don't let you do that, so i'll have to confirm before packing.

It's garage sale season, maybe I should look there for suitcases hehe

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
