Tamarindo, Costa Rica Wedding Locations

I'm trying to research different wedding locations in Tamarindo. The majority of people will be flying in from across Canada and Barcelo Langosta Beach is the only AI I've been able to find in the area (AI including flights not just hotel/food - I find AI is the best bang for your buck when going for a week or more). I've stayed at the Barcelo before and liked it enough to go back with 30+ people but not enough to have my wedding there (no real "wow" factor that I can remember but good food, beach/pool, and nice staff). I've been researching other hotels/restaurants in the area including Hotel Diria and Cala Luna. I'd be open to other suggestions - looking for garden wedding with beach pictures (including ocean/water "trash the dress" photos).

Does anyone know how it would work hosting a wedding at a hotel that you're not actually staying at?

I'm open to any/all thoughts regarding wedding locations in the Tamarindo area.

Thanks!

After talking with a wedding planner we decided that we'd most likely stay Barcelo but holding the ceremony and reception at another location in Tamarindo/Langosta. While this costs a bit more, I think I will get what I want and the wedding planner (Kristina at Perennial Weddings) has been awesome and left me feeling stress free (our wedding is still a while to go so I'm sure I'll feel stressed at some point!).

Hi, I'm also planning a wedding in Tamarindo. We have decided on Langosta Beach Club, they were hard to reach at first so you definitely want to use a wedding planner. I have a question, what have you planner as an itinerary for your guests. Are you letting them plan their own trip or putting together an itinerary? Thanks

Which wedding planner are you using? We are using Kristina at Perennial Weddings - she's been fantastic! With her help we've decided to do a beach ceremony and then reception/dinner at Seasons restaurant.

I haven't decided on itinerary yet for guests....honestly, I'm waaaaay to keen as my wedding is still a year and half away (I'm planner and told my finance that I'd calm down once we had a location decided haha). When we're closer to the date I'm going to see if there are group deals for the packages at the Barcelo through a travel agent and if they're a good deal. Some guests have been talking about getting a vacation home rental for their week down there - I'm not extra keen on this idea as it seperates our group. Not that I'm planning on spending every moment with all my guests but it'd be nice to meet up by the pool, bar, beach, etc. at the hotel and if they're not staying at the hotel I don't think the staff are keen on visitors.

When is your wedding? Have you decided on a photographer yet?

Hey there!

Just wanted to direct you to a review I did of our wedding in Tamarindo this past March.  We too stayed at the Barcelo Langosta and our entire group of 54 loved it.  It was perfect for a group.  There are a few vendor recommendations on my review.  If you are still looking for a photographer, let me suggest this.  You may want to contact a photographer in your area to see what it would cost to have them come.  Some will do it just for the cost of the trip plus a little extra.  This was the biggest disappointment for me of the entire wedding, and the one thing that needs to be absolutely perfect.  If this isn't an option, I did like the look of Toh Goutenoirre.

I would not recommend Costa Vida Photography or Four Winds Weddings & Events located in Playa Langosta.

Congrats!

Hi!!!

My fiance loves Costa Rica so we have decided to get married there (june 2013, no date yet!!!) I am still on the fence as to where but it will definitely be in the Tamarindo area... I am torn between the Langosta Beach Club and probably Nibbana (they just renovated it and looks cool... more like our style than a hotel or something like that)... I was intersted in hiring Four Winds but then I am not sure... why did you not like them???

I don't want to handle my wedding myself but I don't know who to hire as planner. I want to go with a smaller planner and not the big ones...

Any thoughts???

thanks!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
