To use a travel agent or not??

Recommended Posts

I'd say go with a travel agent, but make sure you do your homework firs!! I've have had 2 terrible ones so far, and am now stuck with the 2nd one. It wasn't until after we had paid our deposits that I started to find out about some way better local agents :(

I agree - use a travel agent! Mine did not charge a fee at all, and she has done so much work for us. I almost feel like I am robbing her :). But honestly - it is not worth the stress of doing it yourself.

I didnt think we would need a travel agent since we travel a LOT and rarely if ever use one. I liked to think I was very savvy on the internet in seeking out a great bargain BUT.... my wedding was an exception and there are so many facets that a TA was a must for us!!

We found one that was not only familiar with the resorts we were considering, but who could get us better deals than I could ever imagine- perks for our stay and just a great piece of mind!

I am definitely using a TA... It's just so much easier for myself and the guests!! I did not want to get calls, texts, or emails regarding the trip and have to try and arrange travel to my guests... So far having her has been invaluable! My guests are able to call or email her with their questions, plus once they book she contacts me and I'm able to keep an up to date headcount!!

This has enabled me to create the OOT bags and personalized gifts as they book so I don't have a TON of stuff to get ready once it comes to crunch time!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
