Hi, did any of you ladies go to any bridal shows or expos and did you find it helpful? I live in Miami and there are several coming up this summer. I just wanted to know if you got any great ideas from any shows/expos, or if you got any great swag or discounts to know if it's worth my time.

I went to one near my hometown back in January after being engaged for 2 months. I figured why not..can't harm. I got there and I was impressed with the amount of vendors, the cake samplings and the runway show. Nothing really helped me though. I had already and idea of my dress and invitations and those were the only two things that could be helpful. Being a destination bride with all the local vendors made me kind of feel out of place. But I did enter into a few contests, and only "won" a marykay facial party..and calls from a "dinner for two" company soliciting.  It was still nice to experience and to be able to say I did go to one.

I agree with Speckles, it was a little weird being a destinatin bride. But if I did it again, I would set up an email specifically for the show and use a fake phone number. You will get so much spam after those shows it's not even funny!

Thanks guys! yeah, I was wondering if any of it would be very useful for destination weddings since they seem pretty regional in focus. But, I've heard there are great prizes and giveaways so I was also thinking of going just to see if I can get any awesome free stuff, haha!

I am on the other side of the coin. I am a Wedding venue owner in Puerto Vallarta and we provide wedding services as well. I wanted to invest in a bridal show and I thought it may be a loss of money. It is about 2,000 dollars to have an exhibit. My question to you is if you saw an exhibit is a regional Expo about weddings in Puerto Vallarta would you have stopped to ask about it?

Also, I was thinking about a destination Wedding Expo instead of a normal wedding expo. Are there many of these? I am doing research and ran across your post. I would like to look into a Destination Wedding Expo in a major city like Houston, Chicago, Seattle, Denver, LA, NY,... any ideas?

            Thank you

The plans I have (hopefully wont change) In the Azul Sensatori in Riviera Maya and we are so excited to go a wedding & honeymoon in 1!!! Its a win win!!
