Gran Bahia Principe Esmeralda 2013 Brides

Decided to book the photographer from the resort! Added them on Facebook and they have WAY more pictures there than on their website. And they have packages that fit everyone's budget. Starting at 500$ and go all the way up to 3000$ depending on what you want. They're office is at the resort so there is no leaving to. Choose your pics and they deliver the next day which is awesome. Has anyone have the garden grill menu? I have booked the piscis and we chose the garden grill menu. But in the info the WC sent me the menu sounds odd. I'm trying to print out a few menus for the tables for people to know what they are eating. But in the info they say one of the starters was meat broth. Not too sure how to describe that other than soup lol. When I asked to give a description of the menus she sent me the same menus I already had. And question for the people who have already gotten married there, were the flowers expensive? And is there a big choice in wedding cakes? And bouquets?

Good choice using their photographer - you won't be disappointed!!

We had caesar salad for our starter at Garden Grill, can't remember the other choices though :(

The cakes that were included in the price were all pretty basic, nothing too crazy.  There was a decent amount to choose from but most of them involved flowers and/or ribbon of some kind and you can choose from a selection of colours.  We didn't look into the cakes where you had to pay extra because we were content with the included ones.  Same with flowers, there were a good amount of options, but you could choose from different colours.  Cost will depend on what flowers you choose and what size of bouquet you want.  There are no prices in the book they give you, they just price it all out once you choose.

Just wondering who all is getting legally married down there and what all that entails exactly in terms of sending documents and how long ahead of time you sent everything.  Initially we were going to get legally married here but after hearing all that his involves we are starting to change our minds.  I am still just waiting to hear back from the resort whether or not the judge is available to marry us on the day we have selected but would love to hear what anyone could offer as to the process involved.  Thanks!

We are getting legally married down there! It took a while for the judge to get back to us and we even changed our week/wedding date based on the judge's availability! Our traveL agent is helping with the documents. It is going to cost approx $300 to get the documents translated, you can do all documents through one company. Does anyone know how many people sit at each round table? Also does the resort provide anything for center pieces?

most people i have talked to do the symbolic ceremony down there... it was going to be between 300-400 to get my docs translated plus another 750 for the judge and then you need to have the doc transalted back to english and notarized with was going to be 200+ in order to get things legal up in canada.... another factor for me is with the symbolic the ceremony can be in english most judges only speak spanish down there so none of my guest would have a really good understanding. I also am not religious so that made the decision easier. I however am not telling my guest they are not seeing the "legal" ceremony... to me the important part is my family and friends around to witness a cereomy everyone understands but again this is just my personal preference

Just one month to go until the wedding! Just in the process of getting together welcome bags and timeline cards for the wedding day - is anyone else doing these for their wedding? Hoping it won't be too much stuff to pack and bring on the plane! I was going to include personalized water bottles but don't know if I should pay to bring a case of water or try to buy it when I get there... I ordered labels to put on the bottles from etsy as well as linen bags with our names and graphics for all of the items to go in.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
