Gran Bahia Principe Esmeralda 2013 Brides

Recommended Posts

Where did you find the water bottles and how much did you pay?  I was going to get travel mugs as well as the small sized water bottles but maybe putting the labels on the travel mugs would be good enough...  I was planning to call the airport to see if it would be fine to include a case of water as part of luggage (with extra fees for the weight as I am sure).

I am getting married Gran Bahia Principe May 14, 2013, i'm getting a little worried because i dont know what to expect. Should i get my own Photographer, bring my own decroations. Things like that. Could anyone give me any anwser on what i am getting my self into.cheesy.gif

Jenny000, Which part of the bahia are you staying at? I'm getting married the same day and we are staying at the Esmerelda. I was originally going to bring my own decorations but decided to change my mind ill probably go for a few flower arrangements for the tables and the ribbons for the chairs. We are going to be around 30 people so it should be enough. I made fan/programs and also as the thank you gift we are going to pick up some bottles of rum and decorate them with our theme colors. Probably think of a few last minute things before we leave but for now that's what I've got. We booked the photographer there. I got a quote with them and it was a lot better than if I brought one from here and payed the fee the hotel charges to bring an outside photographer. And their photos are nice. They are located in the resort so you get your pics before you leave and everything is done there so there's no leaving the resort if you don't want to. They have packages for every budget and you choose exactly what you want once you get there. For the rest of the stuff, (flowers, cake etc, ) the wedding coordinator told us that it's all finalized once we get there. It's a little nerve racking but if you check out the "Arrecife Bahia Principe Bavaro" page on Facebook, you'll see the flowers and what not that the hotel does and they are great, nothing to worry about. ( that is the name of the photographer that the hotel offers so at the same time you can see their photos).

Hi Ladies!

I am also getting married at the Gran Bahia Principe, but staying on the Punta Cana side. It is on April 5th, 2013, so almost 3 months away! We are getting excited.

I was there 3 years ago for my brother and sister-in-law's wedding and absolutely fell in love with it, so we are heading back for a round 2 wedding! My brothers wedding was at the Il Cappriccio with a private reception, and it was awesome! We were able to stay later than 11pm, the WC was great!

This time around, for my wedding, we also booked the Il Cappricio private reception. However, we were originally looking at have 30 or so guests (with the max for dinner being 40), but people seem to be booking late and we are into the 40's now. Has anyone come across this dilemma of more people booking and going over the expected capacity for the reception dinner? I am tempted to wait until we get there and just ask the WC to let it slide, and we would pay for the extra people seated, but i am afraid that it won't be possible and i would get screwed out of a place to have the reception (or people will have to eat elsewhere, and only 40 people will be allowed at the dinner).

Anyone have any information on this?

Thanks!

Lindsay

I am getting married April 20,2013. I was also not expecting more than 30 people and wanted to do a beach reception. I have about 45 people attending so we have switched from a beach reception to a reception on the terrace. We picked a package that accommodates 40-60 people.

I still haven't picked the menu.... any suggestions?

Any tips on what to do for center pieces? My brother who got married in Mexico last year took their own center pieces but it seemed to be a hassle with taking everything down and the air line were picky with how much the bags weigh.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
