Hello ,

So far I have sent out save the dates. Which I sent out 14 months ahead of the day. I wanted to give people a lot of time to save. However a lot of the information other than the date has been changed (locations, date prices will be available) . I guess thats what I get for sending them out so early.

I bought my dress from davids bridal this month, so one year in advance.

I am in the works of booking my photographer and videographer.

I am looking into what it will cost to use there ipod and speaker set. However, I may just buy a bose ipod dock and use an iphone or Ipod to save money.

I am also having an at home recepetion so I think I am going to buy my own linens, centerpieces, and decorations!!

My next step is to get formal invitations when I get the airfare prices.. I am patiently waiting

Hello Well actually I've been assigned a wedding coordinator, but unfortunately she's already gone! And they told me they will contact me 90 days before the wedding. I also signed up for wedding destinations.com and they are helping me as well. Hope this helps but I feel your frustrations the communication is not good. Michelle

How far in advance do you think you will send out your invites? I am also patiently waiting for flights to come out as well! I think people will actually want to book when the flights come out instead of booking the room now and then the flight later.

I remember reading that its only like $250 to rent their ipod and speakers... And im pretty sure they also have someone there to help control it as well. Alot of my guests are saying that they would love to help out and MC the wedding so I may just go that route!

Hi All --

I am a Moon Palace April 2013 bride. Have been stalking the 2012 forum for information over the last few months, but have found Palace has changed quite a bit up for 2013 weddings. I was previously working with Geraldine and am now assigned to Ricardo, who has been much more prompt with his responses. We are expecting roughly 125-145 for our wedding with most guests staying a week. We will have a Catholic ceremony, followed by a cocktail hour and then our reception in one of the ballrooms (hopefully Star in the Sunrise section).

Our save the dates are sent out (I am using Paperless Post since we have guests coming, literally, from across the globe. Postage would have been INSANE) and we have a wedding website up with information for our guests. Our guests are booking through my in-laws' Palace Membership, so we aren't using a travel agent or anything like that. I plan to send a formal invitation later this fall, even though most of our guests have already indicated their interest in attending. My wedding dress was ordered last month and I'm now working on emailing our attendants about wardrobe. Since so many decisions can't be made until closer to our wedding date, I want to get all of the things I *can* manage under control. I am sure a lot of you brides feel the same way.

Looking forward to sharing information and helpful hints, particularly about pricing for cake, flowers, etc...

Happy planning everyone!

Congrats to all the 2013 brides- be sure to check out the MP 2012 brides thread- there is a TON of information on it.  Hopefully commincation will be better for all of you with the changing the wedding dept from Miami to Cancun.  Right now it is terrible as no one in Cancun knows anything, but I think after about 6 months in business you all will be fine! :)

Hi,

I am also a Moon Palace bride from the UK and your wedding date of the 8th October is the day i fly out to Cancun :)

I have just had my weddings pack through from the travel agent and my wedding date is the 16th October - one week after your wedding! so excited now :)

Do you know how the 'Cocktail reception' or 'private functions' work yet? i am very confused about there options..... also on the website is says if you go as a group (which we are - are you?) and stay X amount of nights, you get so much included in your wedding such as the cocktail reception and private function. Do you know any thing more about this?

I feel i have been told the basics but all the important details haven't been explained all that well so feel a bit up in the air about it.

Hope your enjoying all the planning involved for your special day.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
