Suggestions Plzzzz!!!

Recommended Posts

Very newly engaged, and we are pretty much decided that we are going to do a destination wedding next year sometime!!!!!  Anyone have any suggestions on places or time of year?  I am trying to keep it semi-affordable for guests.  We have very briefly looked at Costa Rica, Dominican and Jamaica...there's just so many I already feel overwhelmed!!!

I felt very overwhelmed when we first started planning our destination wedding.  We found it helpful to first make a budget, and then second list what we wanted from our wedding, such as an all inclusive destination, fairly close to airports, cheap for our guests, large enough resort so people can enjoy themselves ect.  We from there narrowed it down to a few resorts.  We then used a travel agent, which I highly suggest doing, to help us narrow it even further.  Ultimately it was the cost that helped us choose our wedding resort.  Good luck!

JayKay had great suggestions! My only other suggestion would be to do some general research about the islands/locations. While all of them are wonderful, sunny, beaches, etc - they all do have a different feel and vibe. Think about what fits most with your personality, style, theme, etc.

Also, I would also think about other things to do outside of the resort as many guests like to go and explore during their time there. By giving people options, it allows for everyone to make the most of their time.

Many newbies, including me, are in the same boat.  That's where everyone here comes into play.  I have been reading and reading and reading so many threads from this site and still can't decide where I want to have my wedding. sad.gif
