I'm so glad you started this thread.  I actually emailed the coordinator today asking this very question.  If I get any valuable information from her I will let you know.  Hopefully someone posts some pictures from their own wedding though!

Ok so I got only two photos back from her.  One from each location.  They are not the greatest and it's hard to get a feel because I feel like they look similar.  I think I'm going to check out their location on a resort map too.

Ahhh ... I don't know!!!  I'm having a hard time deciding this.  It is really hard to tell from these photos.  I'm also now considering the beach, maybe it would be even more private and it's only an extra $100.

I'm hoping to do our cake at this location and then have drinks and dance.  So we will rent the sound system and use our own ipod, instead of DJ.  Then for bar ... I think you can get Juice, Pop, Beer and Wine for free, but if you want more options than you have to pay per person.  So I need to sort that out with my FI and see what he thinks.  We would do the basic bar if we go that route. Have you made an decisions.  I would like to hear from someone who has already tried one of these locations and get some feedback!

What are your thoughts?

So I finally heard back from my WC and the Wetbar is already taken for my date :( So we have booked the Parrots Bar.

Im worried that it will be too small for our group. My WC said the most they can accomodate is 50. Im not sure of how many guests we will have yet, but there is a possibility that it will be over 50. Im just hoping that it will all work out at this point!

We are going to rent it by the hour and have the alcohol included and all of that. We are also not hiring an outside DJ and will prepare a playlist for the event (our DJ friend will do a mix for us beforehand, so we can just play it there). As for the decoration package, I think we will go with #3.

Any ladies that have had their reception at the Parrots Bar? Is it going to be too small to accomodate a group of 50? We need a big space for dancing, as our guests are mostly young and will want to party. Anyone have any input on this? It would be greatly appreciated!

I found this good picture from a wedding reception at the Parrot's Bar.  What locations hold over 50 people?

Thanks! From those pics it does look pretty small. It looks gorgeous, but it looks small for a group of 50. I dont know if I should try and change our reception to the beach?!

Im not sure what locations hold 50 people, but from my understand the Wetbar is bigger then the Parrots Bar and can hold more people. That is why I originally wanted to Wetbar, because I think we are going to have a pretty big group (although I dont know exact numbers yet).

And when I told our WC that we may have a bigger group she made sure to say that the most they can accomodate at the Parrots Bar is 50...and im thinking thats gonna be tight...and I dont want it to be uncomfortable for people...

Yiiiikes lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
