How big is your wedding??

Recommended Posts

We are inviting 40 people, not sure how many will come. I expect 30, but will be happy with any number more than 25 (we gave plenty of time in advance so hopefully will be ok  - enough for some of them having more babies now msncry.gif).

Our guest list started at over 250 but we were able to get it down to 160 and that's cutting everyone but our nearest and dearest out. We haven't decided on a location yet but we really want to hold it in Puerto Rico, the only downfall of that is that my fiance was born in San Juan, PR and that's where ALL of his family lives so if we do decide to have it there then our guestlist will top 250 and we definitely cannot afford that many guests. Realistically I'd like to have around 50-75 people join us wherever we decide to hold it because we'll be able to afford all of the elements of our wedding that really matter to us without going over budget but we're looking at at least 80 no matter where we go.

sounds like Puerto Rico is OUT! that's the reason we didn't have it close to home too! then they would ALL show up!

Originally we told are families no more then 50 people!!! Now our guest list is at almost 100... We know that some won't be coming but sent out the invitation as a courtesy. Until we start getting our RSVP's back we won't know for sure. A family member recently told me about a wedding in mexico she went to. The bride and groom anticipated 50 people to start and by the time the wedding came... they had 130ppl who showed up! This would be my worst nightmare ever. I really want to have a small intimate wedding. So we'll see

I guess in my case I should answer the question "How small is your wedding?" :)

We invited 14 close relatives and friends, and only 3 will be joining us, which is within our expectations. We wanted a small intimate ceremony since the beginning.

I was hoping for no more than 30 people. We sent out 150 invites, inviting everyone we would invite to a local wedding and looks like we will have about 55 guest join us in Cancun. I'm delighted that so many guest are coming, but I really wasn't expecting it. I know its not a 'large' wedding compared to the number of guest people have at a local wedding, but it's still more than I wanted... I'm getting so nervous. I don't like being the center of attention. What makes it even worse is only about 10 guest are from my family ;(

I'm also starting to feel like I'll have to entertain people the whole trip and won't even be able to enjoy my vacation... I REALLY hope that's not the case! I'm sure people will be doing their own thing, I just feel like that.

We are inviting about 42 and think that most will join us as our wedding is still in the States. Since both of us have very large families - we decided that outside out immediate family - we weren't going to invite anyone else. Just close friends. That way no feelings end up hurt.

Invites will get sent out shortly - we will see if we guessed right about the attendance. :)

We sent out 60 invitations estimating about 130 and budgeted for 40...to our surprise, we have 78 booked so far and about another 25 who have RSVPd that they are hoping to come but are waiting to receive confirmation from work etc.   At first I was a bit concerned but now feel that I will be surrounded by my friends/family and it's going to be a great week!  I'm not going to stress out about spending time with everyone. I think it'll come naturally!  THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF LOVE GOING AROUND THAT WEEK IN CUBA!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
