The Moon hotel is great as I believe they have a chain hotel with Cancun hotel and so on. I have been to few places in Mexico for holidays; it is one of the place I enjoyed. The sandy beach which is more fine than Riviera Maya but to my surprise there has no Palm Trees on the beach if make any differences for portrait. Have fun as I'm too planning my wedding in Mexico for 2015 as I have more time thank god!

Hey Ladies,

Were getting married in September 2013 and have been reading through a lot of posts. I'm from the UK and have read A LOT of american & canadian brides are actually legally getting married before they arrive in Mexico. I am now considering doing this as the costs and process for getting our birth certificates legalised and translated are quite a lot - its only a total of £125 to do it all in the UK before we go...we'd maybe do it a few days before we go. We don't wanna tell guests really either. Whats you're thoughts? Also, in the symbolic wedding, are there any admin costs??

Also, we wont need to do the blood tests either.

One more question - can you therefore make up your own vows?

Cheers,

Eek - 3 weeks to go - I am getting v excited! It is snowing here in the UK - can't wait to be sitting in the sun as a Mrs! I haven't heard from my WC for ages, but not going to worry about it anymore I've had the date confirmed and what will be will be - no use worrying.

I have just found out that nobody is coming to our wedding now, I don't know whether to go ahead with it or get married at home and then just go to moon palace for honeymoon. The reason we chose to get married abroad is because my mum passed away last year so thought it might be easier, but now that nobody can come due to various reasons I'm not sure now! My dress is bought, I mean who would do up my dress, do they have people at the hotel for that?

I am so sorry Ashley, I am sure the hotel could provide someone to assist you with your dress. Go ahead with your wedding plans it is about the two if you and the love that you share. Are you going to have an AHR?

Thanks Cherina. My fiancé wants to still go ahead with it because its what we want. Yes we are having a party when we get home so everyone will come to that. I guess I just have to look at it as a good thing in that it will just be us two together, everything happens for a reason!

It just being us and the kids is a real possibility and I am honestly okay with that prospect, I hope not bit I have come to peace with it. We will not be having a AHR and this is a renewal for us we had A HORRIBLE elopement at city hall, so I really hope our families will come, but in the end it's about us and our children. As long as the hubby doesn't say " sure, I guess" to the question do you take this woman? I will be happy.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
