new and a little overwhelmed

Recommended Posts

I'm not even sure if i'm posting this in the right area.  I've been spending days and hours researching hotels and wedding packages in LV.  I don't want to spend thousands, i just want a nice, elegant wedding ceremony with maybe MAX 20 people.  I would like DH and i to stay for the week, and anyone who wants to come, are welcome to stay the weekend (we want to marry on a sunday early afternoon), and are welcome to stay longer if they want.

I find it hard to figure out what is available as a complete package.  Like 7 night stay + wedding package, etc.

Any advice?  I'm also in Canada so I'll have to factor in airfare.  I'm just worried i'll pick a hotel or wedding package that i'm not happy with, and want to be sure that what i see is what i get.

Any info, or experiences shared are most appreciated.

is it better to pick a hotel and go to a chapel?  or pick a hotel that offers wedding packages...

I'm freaking out!   :(

Have you tried going through a travel agent? I'd recommend calling some- I think it will save you a lot of time, stress and tears! I recommend calling a Flight Centre near you and asking to be referred to their wedding department! My FC TA has been a lifesaver :)

A wedding planner is probably a good idea but I would also try and read any Las Vegas wedding reviews that you can. I find it so nice to actually read about someone who has gone through the exact same thing and a lot of brides really take the time to write out everything in detail which is awesome!!!

Happy Planning from another Canadian Bride!

I agree - there is so much information online! If you can afford it, I would totally recommend a planning trip. It will give you a better feel for the chapels in person, and your different options. It's totally overwhelming because you literally can have any kind of wedding you want in Vegas. A small sweet elopement, a big crazy banquet, cocktail party, drive thru wedding...

A lot of chapels will give you a deal on your room if you book through them. Think about the location you want your chapel to be in, then pick colors or theme. Some are more classic (Imperial Palace, shockingly, has a beautiful new chapel) and some are more themed - tropical, French, Roman are all options. Then you can go indoors or outdoors... I don't think I helped, did I? :) Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
