Color Help!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone

I am having a hard time with my color scheme. My wedding is a year away so I have time to change and I am looking for some advice.  My current color is purple but I am having a hard time finding purple items that suit a beach/tropical themed wedding with lots of starfish. So I am wondering should I stick with the purple or should I change to one of the color schemes below?

1. I love the pink and orange  and I have definitely found lots of pink and orange that fits a tropical theme.

2. I also love turquoise and have found lots there too but worry that it may not stand out enough against the Caribbean and that it may be hard to find flowers to match.

3. I choose purple and my bridesmaids like it but I have struggled to find items and paper to suit my theme, it seems like maybe more of a garden wedding color then a beach/ tropical.

I am also open to other ideas if you have any :)

Thank for your help!!!!

i agree turquoise doesnt stand out enough so i would say either pink and orange (which seems to be the favorite on these threads) or stay with purple. Im doing purple myself but im not doing a tropical theme so i have no issues. If you can only find beachy stuff in the pink and orange of turquoise why not mix one of those colors with the purple. Like purple in turquoise (bridesmaids dresses in purple so they dont blend into the ocean) or purple and orange

This is the link to one of my favorite BDW brides.  All of her purple beach themed DIY project are peppered through the 70+ page thread. Her colors were purple, silver, white and black and definitely beachy.  I also like Dazeydawl's suggestions of purple and teal. And while fuschia and orange are beautiful colors for a destination wedding, I feel like it's a bit typical.

If you have already chosen purple and that is whay you want...stick w/ it.  You will find decor to match.  You don't want to change colors and regret it later.  However, any colors will be great and the decor will look great just because you are at the beach :-)

Thanks for your help :) I am just frustrated lately  because I can't seem to find a lot of items and the hardest one has been oot bags that have at least some purple. Has anyone seen any small purple beach bags?

Old Navy had purple bags.. I took a pic of them.. You may want to go to my profile and look at my pictures, it should be there. All bags were $1.

If you looking for smaller bags I believe Dollar Tree has tan canvas bags that you could always add a thank you card to the handle in your color and possible add tissue paper for more color. :o)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
