Secrets St James/Wild Orchid Weddings 2012/2013

Thank you for your reply.  It sounds like either would be great!

I was there about a month ago just for vacation and can help with your questions a bit. The two properties are right next to each other, and so it seems like more or less one place. Either side will be fine as it's super easy to go between either. The spa, fitness center, and tennis courts are on the St James side, whereas basically all the restaurants are on the Wild Orchid side. There is one lunch spot by the pool at St James though. So if you're looking for more convenience to the food/night club/coffee bar, go with the Wild Orchid side. And if you're looking for a quieter time, you can go with the St James (since not as many people walking around there). But really either is fine!!! They have activities and such at both pools throughout the day and walking from end to end of the two properties probably takes just 5-10 minutes or so. Have fun!!

Hi!

I am also planning a wedding for next summer there. Does anyone have any ideas for outside vendors for Photography? I can't find many ideas...! I can say I have stayed at other Secrets/Dreams resorts and I am very much looking forward to it. Glad to meet more brides who are doing the same thing! :)

Hi Ladies! I recently switched from Iberostar Rose Hall...felt like I was being robbed. Not enough for the money they were charging me. Anyway, I just switched with my travel agent yesterday. I'm a little nervous because I can't really find anything about weddings at this resort. Any pictures or personal reviews would be greatly appreciated!!! Also any info my travel agent finds I will be more than happy to share!

I am looking into getting married at Secrets Wild Orchid in April 2013 :) so excited!! Would you mind me asking if you booked through the resort yourself or through a travel agent and if so...would you mind sharing the group rate you received for your guests. Any help would be great!!

Thank you,

Hi there!

Not sure if Kristencanada already replied to you, but I can tell you about my experience so far. I reserved the wedding date/package directly through the hotel because I didn't have a travel agent at the time I chose the resort. Since booking, I found a great TA (through Wright Travel Agency, the official agency of BDW) and she took it from there in terms of blocking off rooms and getting a group rate. Here are the rates we have for the wedding weekend of Friday, April 26 - Monday, April 29 (3 nights). Prices are per person and do not include flights. Hope this helps! Happy planning!!

Junior Suite Ocean View Single: $1,339 Double: $1,039 Triple: $1,006

Preferred Club Junior Suite Ocean View

Single: $1,666

Double: $1,291

Triple: $1,250

Thank You! I will be more than happy to share...I'm still doing research on pics and reviews but my TA quoted me a price of $1166.98  total for two. I'm going in the off season (September) so the prices are almost half of what they are in the high season. Also for those of you not using a TA, check with Delta Flexable getaways as they have some good traveling packages that include air and hotel. I was hoping to hear from some of the Brides that have already had their wedding at WO or SJ but I'll continue to see what I can dig up as far as pics. I'll post some good and bad reviews as well as I find them. Happy Planning Ladies!!!

Wow, awesome rates! I think April is the high season, but I'm set on that date so oh well. How many nights does that price cover?

Hey ladies...I found this link while doing some more reserch on Secrets WO

http://kimchapmannews.com/michelle-and-kevin-secrets-montego-bay-jamaica-april-20-2011/

It gives you a little bit of a feel for the wedding area if your getting married on the beach. Some of the pictures you have to look closely at but you can get a general idea. I'm a noob on this site so I may not be able to post links yet. in case the link doesn't show when I submit my message I'll type it out: http://kimchapmannews.com/michelle-and-keven-secrets-montego-bay-jamaica-april-20-2011/

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
