If luggage goes straight through you should be ok. If you have to physically collect your luggage and then re check it then I'd ship it ahead of time. I've found that Delta is pretty good with ensuring luggage is protected.

Yeah I will check on that!

My wedding isn't actually at Secrets because it was getting out of hand. My guest list is currently at 97 ppl. I really wanted 50 or less but that isn't going to happen now so I had to switch the venue based on that. :-(

However I loved it there! And that's probably why I ended up on this forum...I saw the title and am having total venue envy of you lucky ladies. hahaha. I can't wait to see when you all post photos afterwards.

Oh boo, but having lots of loved ones who want to celebrate you is a good problem! I'm sure your wedding will be beautiful!!! Where did you end up going to instead?

The planning process with the WC was super easy. There's a checklist/spreadsheet to fill out and I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted so by the time I got it, it was easy to fill in. The extras did start adding up, and yes, the dance floor is $1000. I tried to push back on that since it's crazy but they told me they can't do anything about the price since it's an outside company who comes in to build it. We are having around 40 guests and for everything (flowers, dance floor, chivari chair upgrade, cupcake upgrade, welcome bonfire, DJ, steel drum band, vendor fees + day pass for the outside photographers, extra costs for the guests over 20, etc.) it is about $12k.

Thats really good to hear that you're planning process was easy! you're wedding is right around the corner! i know you're super excited!!!!

Just returned from my Wedding at Secrets Wild Orchid! Ladies..you have nothing to worry about it was FANTASTIC. In the planning stages, you can get kind of caught up in details and worried but they take care of everything, trust me! When we arrived we were upgraded to the Preferred Club for free and they took extra care of us all week. I just got back yesterday and already have a few sneak peeks from the photographer. My sister also did a trash the dress the next day. Here is a link to our photographer's sneak peek (Kyle + Kristen) and I'll try and attach a personal photo or two that some guests took :). Any questions I am happy to help!?

Looks beautiful!! Those pictures are great!  I'm glad to hear everything went well for you guys  and that you were taken care of!  So it looks like you used the Beach Casita for the ceremony and reception?  How did you like it?  I can't decide whether to use the casita or have a set up on the beach.  Also, did you need to get a dance floor for the reception?

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
