SO EXCITING!!! Have the most amazing time and we can't wait to hear about it/see pics!! The WC reached out to me the other day with the wedding checklist so we can start making our selections. Feels more real now! And thanks for your note about the rooms on St. James-- puts me more at ease!

BTW did you figure out how much decoration/items you will have to travel with? will it all fit in an extra suitcase?

We are doing purple, fuschia, and silver. This is the inspiration board I've been using, and I asked them to duplicate this bouquet:

Logo I made that I'm using on our OOT bags, welcome letter, etc:

I think we'll need 2 suitcases. I haven't tried packing everything yet-- I just have tons of boxes in my living room. Really hoping we can fit it all in two big suitcases/bins!!

I love your colors.  Are you using the same flowers for your centerpieces?

Thank you!! I am bringing shepherd's hooks down with me to line the aisle and I asked the florist to make 10 pomanders in purple and fuschia to hang from the pomanders. After the ceremony I'll put the pomanders in bowls to use as centerpieces. What are your colors/flowers?

Those will look amazing and that is such a great idea.  My colors are red, turquoise and a hint of hot pink however I wont have any turquoise in my bouquet instead it will be tied with a turquoise satin ribbon.  I am still deciding what flowers to use.  I am thinking of using ginger blossom along with some other tropical flowers.  Are you getting your flowers from the resort or are you using Tai Flora or Floral Fantasy?

Love the idea of bringing the turquoise in with a ribbon! And your flower options sound really pretty!

I can't take credit for the pomander/bowl idea, another BDW bride gave me the idea first! Here's what hers looked like.

I am using Tai Flora, but they are also the florist used by Secrets. So if you get a proposal from Secrets it's actually Tai Flora. I reached out to Tai Flora a couple months ago so by the time I got contacted by Secrets to make all of my choices for food, music, cake, flowers, etc. I already had a proposal for the flower portion ready to go.

They are providing us with:

- two post archway with purple fabric (I bought some online and will bring it with me) and crystals ($500) It'll look like this, but there won't be those two pillars with flowers

- my bouquet of purple vanda orchids, purple hydrangeas, purple lisianthus, and purple calla lillies ($360)

- bridesmaid's bouquet of purple hydrangeas and purple calla lillies ($210)

- boutonnieres of purple calla lilies ($25 each)

- 10 pomander balls with deep purple and fuchsia carnations ($850)

It's not cheap but I decided I want real flowers so it's a splurge and I'm ok with it!

I can post some pics in this forum of St James...it was gorgeous, there's honestly not much of a difference between Wild Orchid and St James except for the colours of the room pillows!!..I changed all decor to the purple dendrobiums because I do not like daisies or carnations (they just aren't really "me"), so here is the breakdown for them:

bouquet - $100.00

corsages (2) - $90.00 or $45 each

boutonnieres (2) - $50.00 or $25 each

cake flowers - $50.00

centrepieces - (3) - $225.00 or $75 each

for my ceremony I have a little logitech iPod dock that is quite loud so I am using that, but for the reception I am using my iPod, made a playlist and rented their sound system :)

Yes I received a quote from them it was pretty pricy.  I also have a partial quote from Floral Fantasy who appear to be a little more reasonable.  I am going to have fresh flowers I just have to scale back to make it more affordable.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
