BTW have any of you received any information about decor for the wedding and reception? I'm sure it will be an additional price but when I received my initial packet of information there was nothing included about decor pricing.

just got back from my vacation at st. james and it was AMAZING. you girls will not be disappointed in your choice of resort. actually, we felt like it made where we got married look kinda like a dump, haha! there were a few weddings happening while we were there, but only one of them seemed to have a set up for guests viewing it. that was the beach setup like in the pics kaycag linked you to below. there are curved concrete pathways leading out to the beach gazebo thing, so brides you can feel free to wear heels easily if you wanted to. the guests' chairs would be set up in the sand in front of it. the other gazebos are more out on the water, and would only have room for bride groom and maybe a couple of witnesses. i didn't see any receptions, so i can't say where they would have been set up.

food was really good, but also for the most part *really* spicy. i love hot stuff so i was in heaven, but i think if you have less of a tolerance for spice, you might have difficulty. beach is loooonnng but only a few feet of sand before you hit water in most parts. much wider, less rocky beach area on the wild orchid side, which is no problem since you can use all of both properties. we loved the main pool on the st. james side because we were looking for fun. miss donna at the swim up bar is the best! the pools on the wild orchid side were much quieter/relaxing, if that's your thing.

i will write a full review and post some pics as soon as i get a chance. overall, we LOVED the resort and can't wait to go back someday!

It gives you a little bit of a feel for the wedding area if your getting married on the beach. Some of the pictures you have to look closely at but you can get a general idea. I'm a noob on this site so I may not be able to post links yet. in case the link doesn't show when I submit my message I'll type it out: http://kimchapmannews.com/michelle-and-keven-secrets-montego-bay-jamaica-april-20-2011/

I am also planning a wedding for next summer there. Does anyone have any ideas for outside vendors for Photography? I can't find many ideas...! I can say I have stayed at other Secrets/Dreams resorts and I am very much looking forward to it. Glad to meet more brides who are doing the same thing! :)

Nope but I feel like I really need to tackle the photography thing next so if anyone has ideas/suggestions please let us know!

I did receive a doc with prices for many of the add-ons, like chair upgrades, sashes, tiki torches for the aisle, etc. If you give me your email address I can send.

We are getting married at Secrets Wild Orchid in February 2013 and I was also curious about photographers.  The information the wedding planner gave us when we booked had a few photography options through the hotel but we were looking for something a little more.  I was also curious if anyone had a reception here.  We were debating either just having a dinner for everyone or looking into a beach bonfire the hotel offers.

Yay another Secrets bride! I haven't booked a photographer yet (but really need to get on that soon as they get snapped up quickly.) We are doing the beach bonfire as a welcome event for our guests on Friday night, and then Saturday is the wedding with a buffet reception on the beach for our guests.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
