Hi @lucydanny. The pics are from Claudia from the WBA Studio there at the resort (included in the Divine wedding package) and Danny did my Wedding Video from the same studio which we paid extra for the additional time we added for the reception. I actually hired my own Photographer Phil Steingard for our entire wedding ceremony and reception and he was amazing. :-) Our photos are suppose to arrive this week from him. He is located in Canada and goes down to Punta Cana every November for Destination Weddings. He also did a Trash the Dress photo shoot that was soooo much fun!!! We took around 2,000 pictures if I remember correctly between wedding and trash the dress!!!

Lindsay, your pics are amazing!  I'm so jealous you got castaways, it wasn't available when we were there :(

I posted this in the other thread so I'll just repost here so you can see it:

Hi everyone!  We just got back on Sunday, woo hoo!

The wedding was great...seriously, don't worry about anything.  Francina was wonderful, we were very happy with her.  Pay attention to the WEATHER!!!  We were supposed to do our reception on the beach but it was too windy...then we moved it to the pool area.  Immediately after the ceremony it started pouring rain.  We had to eat our dinner in the buffet and then moved out to the pool area when it stopped raining :(.  Needless to say I was extremely disappointed.  But once we were out there it was a blast.  I highly recommend Caribbean Celebrations for centerpieces and other items you might want.  Even with the outside vendor fee, the cost was way less than the resort.  They did our decorations for the gazebo, pomanders for the aisle, tiffany chairs, sashes and lounge areas for the reception.  They were great.  The hair lady was awesome, I was SO happy with her...makeup not so much ;).  I left looking like an orange mess and immediately washed it off and did my own.

As far as welcome bags, Bubba mugs were a HUGE hit as well as band aids and pepto.  BRING PEPTO AND IMMODIUM!!!  It's just the price you pay for going to a different country.  The beach was beautiful, one of the best I've seen.  The resort was nice too, very pretty.

We hired HDC, they were AWESOME!!!!  We came home with almost 300 pictures that were amazing.

I'm trying to think of anything else but can't right now ;).  I will add things as I think of them.  Feel free to ask my ANY questions!!!

Also, pm me if you want to, I have pics on Facebook and will friend you so you can see them :).

@Paolalindsay - I have Phil Steingard booked as well - Most expensive part of my wedding!! So, I really hope he is as good as you say he is!!  Your photos you posted here are Awesome!!  Do you mind if I ask how much it cost for extra video time?  And how much time did you get?  Congrats again on the wedding!!

@Sportsgirl - CONGRATULATIONS!!  Thanks for the info - it really is comforting to hear that we shouldn't worry and that everything will go easily once we get there... I'm kind of at that point now - We have 6 weeks left, and i feel like I already peaked in the stress department... Now I'm just mostly excited!  I think this thread helps A LOT with that!  But if I do think of any questions... Great to know you guys are here!

@donnahewitt HE was great! Just got pics from him!!! I will post some pics. Our wedding Video was 1 hour 40 minutes long...our Divine WEdding package included 30 minutes of only the ceremony. The additional time for the VIdeo was close to $800. Danny was our videographer from the resort (Now Larimar) and he truly did a beuatiful VIDEO!  HEre are some of our Trash the Dress wedding Pictures in Punta Cana at the Majestic from Phil Steingard.

HEY EVERYONE!!!!

So I just got back from the Dominican Republic - I stayed at Dreams La Romana for my cousin's wedding and also went to NOW Larimar for my meeting and site inspection with Francina. I must say I can not be more excited for my wedding in July. Francina my coordinator is so sweet and I look forward to working with her. My wedding is going to be roughly 100-120 guests. I have chosen to do a religous ceremony at the fountain with Pastor Rick York at 4pm because a catholic ceremony would be be too late. The preist was offering me 6:30pm which would leave me no time for pictures.

I have chosen the Divine Package with my reception in the Ballroom. I'm hiring Carribean Celebrations to decorate. My cocktail hour is booked in Eclipse but I think I just may change it to the Plaza area. I think it will decrease my spending on decorating if I do that.

My photographer is ***** Nova!! Photography is sooooo important to me and I'm so excited I have her. ***** and her husband Robert are such awesome people. She and Rob came to my meeting with Francina to pick up the deposit and we got to chat for a little. :)

I think I will be booking DJ Mannia for my wedding. They were at my cousin's wedding and they were pretty good!

I think I have alot of the big stuff done and booked. But there's much more to do that I'm not even thinking of yet.

If you have any questions feel free to ask ladies!!!

Happy Planning!!!!!!

Hi Erica, Francina is amazing and super sweet!  We used Pastor York as well and he was wonderful, he does a beautiful ceremony. We also used DJ Mannia and they did a fab job for our reception at Castaways. WE used Eclipse for the cocktail hour which was great because it was shaded from the heat and sun during the day...we did not really do to much decorating for the cocktail hour since the location is already set up as a lounge, we had decorative cocktails (the coconut drinks) and a TRIO of guitarist for entertainment and the high top tables covered which was sufficient and stuck with the ceremony and and reception as the main part of the decorated events and worked out beautifully. Although we never made it to the cocktail hour because we were doing pictures forever lol. We also had a pretty big event had 94 guests and turned out amazing. The weather was also beautiful and the breeze coming into the Castaways couldn't have been better! Good louck with all your planning, Francina is truly amazing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
