Is anyone dealing with the Preferred Section person? Like making dinner reservations for the week or anything of the sort?  Just curious what everyone is doing. Also is anyone doing group excursions or just staying on the resort ?

The guys in my group are doing a group excursion.. god knows what .. My brother is planning it.

I am hoping they stick with golf as its the day before the wedding ;-)

We are doing a girls night.. a guys night and the wedding.. I am skipping on the whole welcome dinner thing. we only have 5 nights together as a group do to differnt flights outr of NS and NL so I want to give ppl time alone. I am sure once I get there I may need the assistance of the preferred club for reservations, but I may not as with children you really can't make plans :-)

I know!!!! I have 128 days as of today, soon will be the double digits!! I remember when I had over 500 days and I felt like it was going to be forever til we got married! I actually gave my guests until 5/15, but I have a feeling if they haven;t spoken to us by now, they aren't planning on coming, just wish they would send back the RSVP! They are already stamped, geez! lol Are you having a rehearsal or welcome dinner at all? I was thinking about it, but do you know if that is an extra cost? I don't see paying for food and drinks that are already included!

May 15?!  You are very patient!  I have wishy washy family members that need to make up their mind already lol.  One of my bridesmaids used to be a wedding planner and she warned me that people for some reason are really bad about rsvping for weddings.  What's worst is you stamped your rsvp's.  I feel your pain :)

So funny I feel like you and I are on the same page regarding our weddings.  I just asked Syliva what we could do about a rehearsal dinner.  Here's what she said:

We can offer a private event or a non-private event:

Private Event:

For a private dinner we can offer one of our Cocktail and Dinner packages, Silver, Gold or Platinum, with standard set-up that includes: Private location, open bar, basic white linens, flatware, silverware and glassware.

Non-private event:

We can reserve a space in one of our open restaurants a la carte (upon availability), for groups up to 25 people. In case that you have more than 25 people for your rehearsal dinner, we can offer you a reservation in our Carnival International Café (buffet style restaurant). In both cases, the set up will be individual tables, for up to 8 people each one.

I have to find out more about it but if she can gaurantee that the group will be sitting in the same section (I've heard other brides complain that they didn't) I will most likely just do a private event.

Which package did you go with?

Shes been super helpful and even made a reservation foru group at the buffet for a welcome dinner!

Hi Kristen0000 - it's really good to "meet" you :)

Thank you for letting me know about her communication skills.  I can roll with the punches for the most part..accept when I feel I'm being ignored lol.

How exciting! I'm so happy for you :)  Please make sure to come back and let us know how things turned out.  Share your pics!

Good luck I'm sure everything is going to turn out - you have great weather this upcoming week!

MandieTOFF -

I know we upgraded to a nicer ocean front room and have the preferred club with it but I really haven't dived into it.  I just know it's a perk :)

I thought about doing an excursion since my group is there for a week but I felt like you Susan and wanted to give everyone sometime to do their own thing.  I am planning on a rehearsal dinner though and like you have a girls night out and a boys night out.  My FI will actually have his bachelor party there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
