2013 Now Larimar Brides !!! Any out there ???

Recommended Posts

Well ladies, I had a very lengthy conversation with Mercy today and I have to say they are not budging on anything. Here's the scoop: It is 500 for the photography company not per person. This does not include any meals. For florists and dj's they do not have the 150 vendor fee. Instead, the services you enlist from them will be compared to what the hotel would charge you. They will then charge you 25% of that amount. Example Dj quotes you 1500, same service through the hotel is 3000 (includes an increase in local tax of 18%) they would charge you 750. If you are bringing an outside priest, they do not charge you a vendor fee or the 25%. The other way around this is to tell the WC you want a certain vendor to perform a service. Larimar will enlist them but will markup their services to reflect rates from the hotel. I also learned that each Now resort is individually owned so writing to the am resorts Will do you no good. I have some thinking to do. I hope I can make it work but to be honest I feel like janking all the business away from them :(

Hello ladies,

I am considering getting married at Now Larimar next January. I have learned so much about this hotel  thanks to this website! I am planning on having a Catholic ceremony,  does anyone know if Catholic ceremonies can be performed at this hotel?

@Donna Hewitt- Your wedding looked great, you looked amazing!!! Can't wait to see more :)
-what did you do for music during the ceremony?

-I thought i read somewhere that there was a room in the spa the wedding party could get ready in?

-How long did you get the bridal suite for?

I think it's ridiculous that they charged you for decorating and than took your decortations...brutal. Hope your friend is ok.

Wow. What a bummer. What if you are bringing your own Minister/Priest/Pastor/family member? Probably would be okay if they were guest...I suppose.

The guys went with a Dominican they found working at the resort... He was their escort and there was a group of them... So they felt safe, you may not want to be wondering around at night with just two girls or anything...

@Jesswins - We had a 4 year old, a 2 year old and an infant... They all had a wonderful time!  There is a kiddie pool there for them, but I would also suggest bringing floating thing - water wings and tubes... My niece never got out of the water - The kids club looked awesome - Always had things going on... and the staff were all great with the kids!  I'm sure your daughter will have the time of her life!

Thanks Donna!!! Makes me feel a lot better! :)

My sister booked the bridal suite for half the day and was given the times of 9am to 2pm

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
