2013 Now Larimar Brides !!! Any out there ???

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Congrats SarahLovesChris :-)

I am slowly putting together our wedding website:

http://HarnumMason.ourwedding.com

I included the prices we have from Sunwing, but the rooms are VERY limited... I am hoping that we can get enough preferred rooms for all my guests but we will have to wait and see.

Also, the wedding dates are VERY limited at the resort.. but if you can, it is best to call them (our travel agent took care of all of that for us) as it is easier to see what is available and get it held right away instead of going back and forth through email.

Mandie... Don't worry :-) Its your wedding and you do what ever you want!

I put on our invitations "symbolic wedding" .. I am telling my guests its not legal ( if they are brave enough to ask such a thing) and if they do not agree with it then they can voice their opinions to someone else. Its my wedding and we are having it how we want :-) If they decide not to go cause it is not legal then they really shouldn't of been invited in the first place :-) I can be mean at times .. haha

We are going to legally get married in our home by a JOP with just us and the witnesses needed. I am only wearing my dress once and will be celebrating April 24th as our anniversary.

I really like this resort and I'm looking in the end of April and beginning of May, hopefully I have no issues with trying to get a date. I'm not too picky about the day but I know the rainy season starts in May so I'm crossing my fingers for little or no rain while I'm there. I've been having travel agent issues so I'm hoping to get a roll on things in the next fews weeks so we can send out our Save the dates :) Happy planning ladies

Welcome SarahlovesChris and congrats!

I'm sure you will get the date you are looking for! We booked through our travel agent which deals with Sunwing/signature. That's very sweet that your being married by your brother in law! I'm sure you will get the time you want:) Are you going through a travel agent?

Hey Susan:) I  think I need to start thinking more like you! I love your meanness! LOL

Hi Mandie... did you get any info on the packages where the two sites have conflicting info... ( or anyone?)
I am going to upgrade to the Divine package if it includes the DJ for sure...

I am waiting to hear from Mercy as I think they may have my info messed up. I put the deposit down for the middle package and then she told me it didn't include a private dinner... Hoping it was just a mistake.

Hello,

I emailed tonight for pictures of the reception/ceremony sites and for details of what exactly is included in the packages as I have seen different things that are included and would like to know. I'll let you guys know when I get a reply:)

Thanks Mandie, if I get any info I will pass it along as well.

I want to get everything in order before my mat leave ends and I am back to work.....

I think I did figure out the pictures in the Divine package "Photo Package (24 full color photographs and upgraded wedding album)".

Not a whole lot...

I also posted in another forum to see if any past brides can give us any info.

Congrats!!

I didn't bother with save the dates... sent a email out to family and friends when we started the planning process...

I am going to send my invites out this week though....if Canada Post ever delivers them....

I have been waiting over a week to get a reply from Mercy...you may just want to ask your travel rep to call the resort to secure your date.
That's what we did as getting a reply was not happening.. they are super busy this time of the year.

I have heard from other travel reps (other than the one I am using) that Now Larimar is excellent for weddings and not to worry :-)
Also I just found out co workers have been to that resort the past 2 years and they have nothing but good things to say about the staff and the resort.

Hey Susan,

Yeah we are still deciding if save the dates are better for us or not, e-mailing everyone would be nice but we have so many ppl were inviting (so we don't offend anyone). I come from a big italian family so we're trying really hard not to offend ppl.

I've decided to make my own invitation to cut the cost, nothing too extreme though (hopefully they come out the way i want them too lol).

Hmm yeah once we get our contract I will e-mail our TA and tell her to call the resort. So is Mercy the only wedding co-ordinator at the resort?

Ohh that's great to hear, from all of the pictures I've seen of weddings at Now they look great! We were split between Now Larimar and Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Jamaica but we ended up going with Now since more reviews said Now was nicer and service was better. The only thing i'm worried about is the packages? Have you picked one yet? I went and read the other forum and ppl were saying that there were so many hidden costs :S

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
