Kash, how did your nights out go?

Even if I am bad I am trying to work on portion control too, I tend to stuff myself until I am going to burst. But now I am trying to recognize when I am full. Have to try on my dress this coming weekend so going to be on my best behavior this week! Gonna have to check into that hungry girl, cuz that certainly is what I am!girl_werewolf.gif

hi ladies, I havent checked in for a bit. I missed last week WW meeting bc I had to take care of some things. But I havent been doing too good either which really sucks...I feel like I cant ever stick with anything. Last week I did pretty good but I cant get around to counting points on the wknds!! Then today those evil Girl Scout cookies arrived and I devoured a whole box....I didnt even want to calculate the points bc I know I would fall off my chair or something. Today was a very, very bad day! Since I blew basically all my weekly points as well as my 35 extra points, is there any point in counting points the rest of the week? Woe its me smile78.gif

Well... let's see. In a way it went well but mostly is went terrible! I definitely ate with a more restraint than I used to BUT I still ate WAY too much and ended up 24 points OVER my flex points for the week. needless to say I gained sad.gif

But I will add this one note regarding counting points even after you've surpassed your 35. It makes you WAY more accountable and therefore more in control. If once you max out on points you stop counting then who knows how much you can and will eat! But if you continue to count your "over" points then at the very least you can minimize damage done. Trust me, this is a new way of thinking for me! I used to do the same exact thing... it's like once I used all 35 points what the use of counting? But I'm starting to see the error of my old (and obviously unsuccessful) ways. But it is HARD - especially because when you're talking abut restaurant food, or party food or whatever - it's basically impossible to know what's in there. But I guess you just guess the best you can.

Anyway this week (my new WW week started yesterday) I am determined to do well - meaning exercise more, eat the right number of points and drins that water! Let's see how it goes!

Stay strong this weekend - there's lots of candy out there!

Hey all!

I have four months to go and I have finally (after many months of stressing about it) decided to join weight watchers. I have a huge sense of pride and feel I am defeated to ask for help. But looking good for my guy on our wedding, and in our pics is more important than that. I am planning on going in this week and signing up. I hope to come to this forum regularly for motivation. Also if anyone has any hints or tips or tricks I would love any advice at this point!

Keep up the good work everyone :)

Maura - what about exercises for your upper body and/or core?
- Bicep curls
- Hammer curls
- Tricep presses
- Shoulder exercises
- Side lifts: lift both arms out from side until parallel to ground.
- Front lifts: lift one arm out in front of you until parallel to ground. Lower and raise other arm.
- Shoulder press: Bend elbows holding weights near just above shoulders. Press up and slightly out (don't lock elbows) return to starting position.

Maybe if you can do a series of upper body weight lifting exercises back to back (and switch your target muscles), you can get your heart rate up (and burn calories) and increase muscle mass (to burn more calories). Also "core" work:

- regular crunches, side crunches, reverse crunches, etc. etc.
- yoga walk (ie lie flat on your back, lift both legs in the air lower left leg toward ground (don't let it touch) move it back up and you lower right leg - continue as if you are walking in the air.
- navasana "boat pose" in yoga - Yoga Journal - Full Boat Pose

Good luck!

I have my WW meeting tomorrow and I'm dreading the weigh in. I lost 4 lbs the week right before I left and now I'm probably returning after 2 weeks of eating like crap with a heavier number than when I actually started WW! I guess I don't feel too bad though- it was my wedding/honeymoon. It's only fair to live a little and have 1 or 2 (possibly 4) margaritas while laying by the pool. I just know I'm going to pay for it tomorrow!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
