Exactly! Our weddings are more than six months away. Do you think that is the problem?

I plan on getting a trainer at the six month mark.

Yes! I know that when I was doing WW for my wedding it was hard to stay motivated for such a long time!

I think a wedding dress as motivator is hard because you know deep down that you can have it altered wink.gif. How about setting a really small goal that's closer in time? Like set a goal that you will exercise 3 times next week (or whatever is appropriate for you right now - whether it's 1 time or 5 times!) and promise yourself a non-food related reward? Like a new shirt, a ticket to a show or something you've been wanting but have been holding off on.

It's HARD!!!! There's nothing wrong with you. And especially when you're talking about something that's over 6 months away it's almost impossible to "feel the pressure" yet.

GHave you guys seen the Week 3 or 4 (can't remember) 2008 brochure about how to set exercise goals? I just started using it and I've found it to be really helpful. Basically you take this quiz to determine at what frequency level you are right now with your exercise. Then you go to that section and it tells you what exercise goals you should set for yourself (in terms of exercise points earned). Right now I am working on getting a minimum of 7 exercise points a week. once you do that consistently you add 2 points and you aim for 9, then 11, etc. etc. until you are at 28 points/week (that's 4 points a day!!!). Anyway just making the goal to earn 7 right now is helping me to motivate.

Thx Kashmira for all the tips...you are right, setting small goals for the near future is prob more effective that setting one for 8 mths down the road...I told myself I was going to start WW last week and I didnt but I will begin this week for sure...I have to sign up so I can get the books, etc...and maybe the meetings will keep me motivated as well

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
