Wedding colors

Pink was my other option. ..I even considered changing to pink just so I could use stargazer lilies...but we love the orange accent color so it stays and we will use orange lilies. .kinda ironic that is Saskatchewan provincial flower but it was also my grandma's favorite flower so it has a few meanings for us... not to mention FI loves orange..

I'm having a hard time though finding a bouquet. .they always pair the lilies with yellows or pinks. ...and I want it to have carribean blue in it

I am also torn on picking colors! I'm using the tropical flower bouquet that comes with our wedding package and the pics I've gotten from the florist are mostly pinks, reds, yellows, and white. I hate red and my fiancée doesn't want a pink theme. I am not a fan of yellow either :( Ugh idk what to do! I originally wanted like a coral or peach theme - by theme I basically am just looking for colors for the chair sashes to match the flowers. I don't think we're having a private reception so I don't need to worry about the decor for that and no bridal party so no dresses to worry about. I just want to match the chair sashes to the flowers.

What if you go with white flowers. I love Calla lilies they are simple but elegant, and find a ribbon in the color you like which will match the chair sashes.

So when I started this process I wanted fuchsia!  Never dawned on me that people pick more than one color!  (yes, naive wedding lady here!).

So we started to throw in accents of orange (tangerine) as I love that look.  As we have gone along I really didn't want any of the men (fiance and his guys) in white shirts.  Well summer was ending and all we could find that he liked was turquoise.

I now have a pallet of fuchsia, orange, and turquoise.   Trying to figure out how to tie it all together.  I assume if you just use touches of the colors all over, it's ok?   Or does everyone have to wear a touch of every color? Ie my BM's dresses are fuchsia and their flowers are fuchsia/orange gerberas, is it ok they don't have the turquoise?  I think my fiance will have a pink gerbera bout and the men will have the orange.

I was going to have fuchsia chair sashes and fiance thought maybe alternate with blue. I am not sure I like the idea as I haven't seen many pictures of the alternating colors on the chairs. Fuchsia is still my original color too!

So at reception I will do pink frames, orange blume boxes, with turquoise ribbon on them!

I think if I pull in the blue in some areas it will be ok, agree?

Driving me mental having to throw in the 3rd color but I think it will work. The colors match and they pop up in random places, so I think this will be ok.  This is how fast my mind is working now that we are just over 3 months away!

you can do 3 colors without looking like a rainbow. what about putting turquoise ribbon on the girl's flowers to tie that color in? or turquoise jewelry for them?

with the deco, I would do what you've outlined - splashes of each color here and there. My personal choice would be to stick with 1 color for the chair sashes vs. alternate, but that's just me.

Thanks for your reply!

I have considered bringing some ribbon to add to the bouquets (they come with white)...

Their jewelry and accessories are already purchased and are all silver based, so can't go that route!

I agree about the 1 color for chair sashes, so I think I will just throw in some turquoise here and there and be done with it.

I was contemplating not using orange at all, but didn't want pink gerberas beside the fuchsia dresses, and you can't get blue flowers in the shade I would want!  So will just stick with the 3 and have them here and there!

Thanks for letting me think out loud!

@@calgarybride2015@@AllieH that's exactly what I was thinking, turquoise for the ribbons that hold the flowers. I think it would look great! I agree I'm not a big fan of alternating the colors on the chair sashes. I think it looks more put together with all of them being the same color. What about adding turquoise details such as borders on the menus or on the cards for the table numbers? I think that would look great too!

I love the bright colors but I always wanted pastel for my wedding and so did my fiance. I really went back and forth because I didn't want everything to seem too washed out. I think I changed colors like 3 times before settling for one palette. We ended up picking periwinkle, blush pink and ivory :)

Thanks!

Washed out is exactly why I was struggling with white. It was like every lady in pink, then from me on was white and it bugged me (yes everyone does it, but I couldn't get on board with it)  My guys are informal so ties or handkerchiefs just wouldn't work for more color on the white.

I think I will bring some blue ribbon for the bouquets.   Also, will have the blue on the vases, and possibly for the ribbon on the cake (probably won't do it though lol).  I will make sure all my maraca tags have a mix of fuchsia, orange, and turquoise.
I made my frames already - they are fuchsia, and then the inners of the frames are in sparkly card stock. I used black for the numbers, but honestly I LOVE them, so I ain't changing them. I will make it work somehow!!!

and ps - your colors are great :)

We still have some time, but the other night we talked about our colors and so far we've come up with navy with our neutral color being grey. The accent color is sort of up for debate. I like yellow or lime green... he thinks pink (for me) will be a good color. I like pink, but I don't know...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
